Stupid College Freshman needs study help!

OK, so it's sunday, and sundays dont exist in college, they're used just for work :(. anyways, i have a bunch of reading for my American Political Systems class and i;m wondering if any of the seasoned college kids in here can give me any advice. heres my situation: I'm about two weeks behind because our Prof screwed up the syllabus and i have to backtrack on the readings. There are two books, one is a collection of political readings (book excerpts, essays, etc) that he gives the pop quizes on and the text book that he bases the lectures on. I wanna cover the pop quiz stuff but they're random and i need to do well because i ate shit on the first midterm. it would seem that the logical thing to do would be to just catch up on the political readings but i wanna keep up with the text or is that a waste of time. Any help please? thanks a ton.

Personaly I believe my short term memory has been affected but that is the main side effect and I also think maybe my short term memory has been affected.

ESPRESSO is your friend at this point. Also, you gotta realize that you can get slightly behind on the lecture stuff. Why? it's covered in lecture so even if you don't read it, you still get some. Make sure to take really good notes for every lecture for which you don't do the reading, so that you can look back at it later AFTER YOU READ THE READINGS(that's key) and get it. Read the pop quiz stuff ASAP if it's gonna keep you from failing.

im in college, i have 5 midterms coming up... ive spent a total of 5 hours max reading... probably less. i'm going to fail. thats all there is to it. so the message is this: college is gay, dont try so hard.

And sundays should be your skiing day. Come to think of it, so should saturdays. College isn't that hard.

Sacrifice everything else (including sleep) and just catch up on your readings and school work. Read any and every chance you get. As long as you get 5 hours sleep an night. When you catch up, reward yourself by taking a weekend off to drink, party and enjoy yourself.

yeah, ok, just re-affirming what i thought, thanks a ton! im not stressing and ive got enough time. thanks again. oh yeah, and come ski season, there wont be any dicking around like this so sundays and saturdays can be for skiing.

Take a book with you to classes every day. I have actual homework assignments due every week because I'm in engineering, so I work on problems in the 10 min between classes or whenever I have an hour off. I also do the reading. If you can, get ahead, it makes lectures make so much more sense in the long run. As for your current situation, read fast.

Over time, most people experience life involving love, sufffering, compassion and an uspeakable drive for something new... for me there's skiing, nothing more nothing less and it encompasses everything, every day I'm out there.

Don't log on to NS for a week. I've found that helps my schoolwork immensely.

And yeah, what rebel said... you gotta bust balls and get it done. Falling behind will kill you, so just read like a fucking animal. Sure, you'll lose one (or two, or three days) of your life, but you'll feel a lot better afterwards and you won't be so stressed out. College is all about getting super stressed out, and then dealing with it. Deal with it.

Study at school in the library or cafe, that is what I do because at home there are too many distractions, like ns for instance.

I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.
