Stupid binding question...

I just got some bindings in the mail to mount on my Bridges but the breaks aren't wide enough. This is the widest ski I've had and yeah... thought the brakes would fit. Can the shop make them fit or do I need to order special brakes?

Woooord.

Yeah yeah, brakes...breaks. Everyone slips. I spelled it both ways in the thread. Get over it.

I have the Rossi FKS155 bindings.

What do you cats suggest.

nomen can tell you for sure (he is really smart) but im pretty sure your going to have to bend them, or get different bindings

You can't get wide breaks for those bad boys, I will trade you a pair of brand new px 12 WB Ti for them with maybe a little money on the side.

Unfortunately you won't be able to get widebrakes for the FKS' but PLENTY of people have sucessfully bent them.

You should be fine if you aren't retarded and can follow instructions

This is the non-disassembly method (Quicker, but you do put heaps of torque on the binding when bending so it's not hard to crack the baseplate)

Disassembly Method (Takes longer, harder to do,but more reliable method)

I don't have access to a vice or really any equipment to let me bend them. Would a shop do it for me for an extra cost?

More often than not, shop techs won't wanna do it because they it's near impossible to get replacement FKS brakes!

What bindings would you guys suggest for the Bridges then?

I'm going up to Mammoth on Friday so - I kinda need this done asap.

I just talked to the tech at Sports Chalet. He says he has about 10 extra wide brakes in the back. Odds of any of those fitting are....(?)

None of them would be FKS Widebrakes

Do yo NEED a 15 din binding?

How tall/heavy are you

Depending on your size and required DIN

You could consider the Salomon STH12 or 16 also perhaps the Marker Jester

Nah. 12 is all I need. I just got them for a good deal. I'll just try going into Doc's Ski Haus here in LA and see if they'll do it. Thanks for the replies though. Much appreciated.

Yeah but he doesn't have a vice/tools etc to do it and it's unlikely any ordinary tech will do it/will know how to do it

So maybe better to get a different binding where a widebrake is available

Salomon STH12

Look PX12

Relatively cheap and you can get huge brakes for them
