are there any stories of people forgetting shit that they need to ski? poles, skis, goggles, whatever else. im sure there are some good stories.

mine:

Ive forgot poles and shit but the worst one was when i was 13 er so i had a ski race, showed up to the lodge that was an hour and thirty away from the hotel, realized i only brought one boot... i was only twelve but still forgetting just one boot.

One of my friends forgot his boots, so he decided to go rent some, but we were in the upper parking lot quite a ways above the lodge. So he clipped his vans sort of into his skis somehow and skied down like a G~

forgot poles a few times

worst thing was i took my footbeds out when i was drying my liners once and i took the boots out the next day standing on nothing but the bottom of the liner and the bootboard - THAT sucked.

i went with my boy one time and he forgot his snowboard... ever since i do a checklist... i forgot gloves before but i just got some from lost and found and returned them after... thats a nice thing about lost and found

I forgot my pants once. You've gotta give those gapers credit, skiing in jeans is efking hard.

i drove 2 and a half hours and realized that i didnt bring my skis with me!! hahahaha. that was a really bad day up on the hill

once i forgot my jacket and the weather was windy, snowy and cold so i had no option but to rent one, it was horrible and i'm sure i looked like such a noob. it sucked.

my brother forgot his boots at home which was 8 hours away.....wow my dad was soooo pissed at him "you remembered to bring a god damn xbox....but not your fucking boots"

I usually check so much I never forget anything haha but i've forgot my pass before or something like gloves but i'd be like 2 mins from home.

drove 50 miles to the hill, right as i was pulling into the exit i realized i left my pass at home. turned around drove 40 miles before remembering i could have gotten another pass for $5. wasnt one of my better moments

Nothing worse than getting to the mountain and realizing somehow you left your camcorder battery on the charger at home an hour away. D'oh.

The one that happens the most to me is that my ipod is just about to crap out. Sucks so bad on the hill having an ipod thats dead.

There are times when being OCD can be a good thing, and this is one of them. You'll check your gear 500 times before you turn on the engine to leave haha.

my friend and i were driving up to the mountain on a snowy day in his volvo wagon. we forgot chains to put on the tires, and the road was too slick and we couldnt make it up. we were about .5 miles away from the resort when we had to turn around, and we had been driving for 2 hours.

numerous times ive forgotten a pass or something small, but onetime at the lodge, i got ready, put all my shit on, grabbed my skis, walked to the lift, went to clip in, and realized i forgot to put on my boots. i just felt like a tard, but luckily they were in the lodge.

last week on wednesday i forgot my goggles when it was dumping and i was skiing 3 and a half feet and getting faceshots sucked

oh poor you!
I wish I had 3 and a half feet of freshies

( I forgot my boots once.....landing switch in rental boots is near impossible)

well my family and i were headed up to banff for a weekend and as soon as we got to the skihill my dad realized that he had forgot his suit for the party that night, so my parents dropped my sister and i off at the hill and then gunned it back to calgary to pick up the suit and get back in time for some skiing.

also, when we went to whistler my sister forgot her skipants so we had to buy some new ones in the village. lucky her haha.

one time i was too late to run downstairs to grab my keys so i grabbed the spares....and when i got to the ski area ..reallised that my key to unlock my ski rack was on my main keys....luckily my friend picked both locks with lift ticket wickets!

my friend invited me skiing last year literally the morning he was leaving for a 3 day trip to 7 springs pa. in my hurry to leave i forgot my base layer and softshell midlayer, so i had to ski in just my jacket and a few t shirts. night skiing was the worst ever...

oh fuck - forgetting stuff is where i'm a viking! a bunch of years ago i left a nice oakley jacket at the day lodge. another time i was at whistler in the summer. got really stoned and left a pair of a-frames sitting at the base... oops. one night i forgot one of my gloves at home, but i had no way of getting there so i spend like 4 hours skiing with one glove in like -30 weather. i just alternated the one glove i had every other run... it worked out i guess.
two years ago i went to whitewater (about an hour and a bit drive away) for some pre season shreding, but in the parking lot i realized i forgot my boots back in rossland. the next year, another pre season shred mish to whitewater, got about halfway there - realized i forgot my boots so we went back and grabbed em.

one day when i was like 10 i was up at loon and i woke up to discover that i had left my jacket at home. i ended up wearing my grandmothers big puffy neon blue vest

funny u should ask cause that is probally one of my most re-occuring dreams...being that i am at the ski hill for the first day of the year and i dont have my boots etc etc or my skis get stolen, or i forget where i left them, and i end up wasting the whole day at the hill, looking for my shit...worst dream ever lol.

I've forgotten gloves waaaay too many times, but I just get some from the lost and found for the day. I forgot my goggles once that I can remember. In Outdoor Pursuits class last year all the XC ski boots looked exactly the same, and in a hurry i picked up a pair belonging to a girl that wasn't there, and they were like 3 sizes too small, I squeezed my feet into them, but it was the most miserable 3 hours of my life. Then the next class I dropped one of my own boots in the parking lot at school so i missed a class of XC.

so i was at a race and my bag had a broken zipper so i grabbed my bag and i was gettign my boots on and realized i forgot one of my boots. my mom was back at the hotel sleeping becasue it was early as fuck and it was like 5 min before looking at tthe coarse. so i had to look at the coarse on one ski and with a shoe on the other.

Fuck, no joke. This thread made me realize I left my poles in my friends car a few hours ago. Now I have to go get them.

i forgot to bring ski pants for opening weekend at abasin hahah

when driving out to school in CO this year i forgot ski socks and my underlayers

i forgot my skis once at killington, i layed them down to get into my car and ended up just leaving. i went to go skiing the next weekend, and noticed i didnt have my skis in my car.......gave the resort a call and they had them, a ski patroller saw me drive away with out my skis i guess was the story. luckily i was going back to killington anyways.

Last year driving back from PC I sped through a yellow light just to look back and see my gloves fly off the top of my car.

that is pretty much my dream every night.

and i have a couple of stories most involving poles...

So last year I went to colorado for a week, and it was my first time out west so I had been pshyced about it for like a whole year before. I had my gear all lined up and ready for a least a week before hand (i didnt really ski too much the last week before the trip cause i was paranoid about getting hurt). Anyway, two flights and one long bus ride latter i arrive a my room, only to find that i forgot my poles at my house on the east coast

A couple years ago i was skiing with some friends in vermont (mostly snowboarders) and i gave one of my snowboarder friends a pole to push up a little rise. He held on to it for a little while, then it turns out that I took the wrong trail so I ended up with only one other friend and one pole. So I didnt want to ski down to the lodge and drop my one pole off so i skied the rest of the day looking like an ass with only one pole

And basically ive left thousands of poles at ski mountains, and it always seems that when i forget gloves, i only forget one, and its always my right glove so im left with a shitload of left handed gloves that are useless
