Study Abroad Ideal Location

Spring 09. Riding Big Bear and Mtn High 2-3 times a week blows especially in traffic. So, Ive decided to get the fuck out of LA for this winter.

Word is Europe parks arent as rad as ours, but some of these edits have me thinking they are pretty dope. And Im all about that powder, ughh.

Im thinking Geneva, Switzerland. Any suggestions? Whats good around there?

No, BC is too close so it would be in europe somewhere.

hold up son, there's a whole lot of important stuff we need to know first- what stage are you- high school or college? Is this a specific language exchange, i.e. does the language have to be french, italian or german?

if it's a college exchange thing then you've basically got geneva, grenoble and lausanne.

Grenoble is a fun town with loads of students from all over the world studying there. Plus its only half an hour from Les Sept Laux, one of Europe's best parks and a fun mountain in its own right. It's also within easy reach of other good resorts like Les 2 Alpes, Alp d'Huez and La Grave...

Haven't spent much time in Geneva so dunno what it's like as a place but there are squillions of mega resorts within spitting distance. Portes Du Soleil, Chamonix, Verbier etc etc etc all within an hour.

Dunno much about Lausanne excpet its a very picturesque spot, also within easy reach of good skiing.
 
If you want to study in the mountains go for Innsbruck. There's a gondola straight from the city to Nordpark, and you have busses to a shitload of cool resorts. It's a ridiculous party town. It's the only big city in the alps that's actually inside the alps. There's also a huge freeskier scene, basiclly you ride at Nordpark and Axamer Lizum... and then you can make day trips to Mayrhofen, Serfaus, St. Anton and Kaunertal.

In Geneva you need a car and then you can get to Avoriaz/Portes du Soleil in about 1 hour. Geneva is not that rad though. Better go to Lausanne, which is a real student town, very good universities, and you have train access to Portes du Soleil, Glacier 3000 and Verbier.

Zürich is also a good option with top universities and easy train access to resorts like Laax, Andermatt, Davos, etc.. Zürich also has a superfast connection to Zermatt and Saas Fee which is useful in summer.

Or Grenoble, which is a big student town in France, kind of smoggy and polluted though, but has reasonable bus access to Les 2 Alpes and Les 7 Laux.

But if you ask me Innsbruck is the way to go.
 
if you're just looking to ski dont go to westminster seeing as their tuition is somewhere in the 20s. switzerland would be pretty sweet. or you could do new zealand, chile, argentina, japan...theres lots of places but i dont really know anything about any of them
 
i dont know one kid that goes to westmini that pays for all their tuition... they hand out scholarships like hotcakes.. and if youre looking to ski, got to westmini.. guaranteed 70 days on the hill (for class) for winter at westminster students...
