Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

All the bros are going to ride at snowbird this year, but the problem is the bird has no park (or at least anything that can claim be a park). I am a pretty big park rat but love riding with all my friends and lets not kid ourselves the bird has some sick terrian. So my choice is to ride alone at the Caynons or PC and get a fairly decent park or ride with company at the bird but lose out on the park. Any ideas?

i would just go to pc or canyons and say you already bought your pass there just to make them feel guilty

win win situation

That's a tough one. I would probably stay where the park is and find a new crew to ski with, but that's just me cause park is really the only thing to do around me (my home mountain has like 10 runs total - 1 of which is the park, and there's not much else around me unless I drive 2-4 hours). It's always fun to ski with your friends, but are you going to have as much fun at snowbird with no park?

skiing with friends and no park will be more fun then lapping the park by yourself.

just build some bc booters w/ your friends once in a while.

Damn i'd kill to ski snowbird for a season alone, and you complaining about getting to do it with your bros???

get your shit str8 and buy a snowbird pass..

i'm going through the exact same thing man. moved to u of u for college, and all the friends that i have made so far are going to the bird, but i am a complete east coast park rat. i guess its time to learn pow

just make new friends at pc, a mountain would be so boring if you couldnt go into the park in the spring

From the title, I thought you were talking about the book where the guy had to hack his arm off with a pocket knife because it got caught under a boulder. You're situation isn't bad at all!

If you are a park rat, there are SOOOOO many kids at PC or the Canyons to meet, it won't be a problem. It's always a hard decision the first year, but you will have fun whereever you go. I got an Alta pass alone last year, not knowing many people with one, but made friends and I always had someone to ride with.
If you go to PC and just talk to people on the chair, i can guarantee every third kid you meet will be going to the U .

this,

i mean its fun skiing with old friends and stuff but if your not gonna enjoy it then just make some park rat friends at PC or something. i would kill to be able to ski there for a season so i say go for it

Or, just get into the natural terrain. I missed sliding rails and boxes last season but there was PLENTY to jump off, on, over.

You should post this question at tgr and see what kind of responses you get. It comes down to powder or park, even if you do get snow at pc its going to get tracked out a hell of a lot faster than the bird, not to mention the bird gets WAY more snow. Powder>PARK ERRRRRRRRR DAY

Cause the Bird doesn't get tracked out by 1 when the roads open does it?

Sounds like your friends are selfish and don't really love you anyways Get a canyons pass its going to be the best of both worlds, kids utah wide are pretty rad and easy to meet/get along with. I've had a PC a few times over the years and being a born and raised utahn its got nothing that other resorts don't. PC will have the best jumps this year like every year, and canyons will have a more creative park. your real dilemma is why you're friends sold you out.

^^what i tought when reading your thread...
but now on topic....
i'd rather shred a day with friends outside of the park then shred a day in the park without friends....
and there are arguments for both; you can shred gnarnia in tha backcountry but you can also make new friends in the park...
so basically you should ask yourself; do you think its more fun sessioning park without your friends or just mess around on a mountain with your friends....
also as mentioned above if you go to PC and you're a social person you'll make friends soon enough....
