Struggling Southern Winters

I know most of the NS Members are from up North which is why I wanted to ask the following:

Compared to Northern Winters the snow fall in places like Australia is pretty shit, some seasons we will only get 3 to 6 weeks of "safe snow" the rest of the time only the die hards get out for some rock hoping and grass tailing...

Alot of the inspiring shots that come out of films from PoorBoyz, Nimbus, Level 1, etc. are of super landscapes with endless amounts of snow.

Can people be just as impressed by dirty wet winters and progressive tricks in these lame conditions?

how much of the landscape makes an edit or a film for that matter?

You could hop on a plane for 3 hours and find infinitely better snow and skiing in NZ.

or we can all drive 3 hours to the best party mountain in Victoria. Im heading to NZ in August which will end up costing around $3000 for 2 weeks which could be 2 months on a Vic mountain if you do it right...

point is we shred nasty snow and love it but will people respect that if were making edits and putting them next to mammoth park sessions..?

if you have decent tricks and can film and edit, the location is irrelevant. The parks are decent enough to film in. there just isnt enough people making edits i suppose.

If your trying to do a big mtn or BC edit. I can see how it wouldnt be as impressive without the pow or cliffs or pillows. but thats just common sense. Your point is not a strong one and it is not worthy of further discussion. IMO. ciao

get the fuck out of my country. nah, just kidding. but seriously.

dude, you've missed the whole point of shredding in oz. laps with the boys, spring all season. I LOVE OZ WINTERS.

well ive hardly missed the point of shredding in Oz if i just said that we shred dirty snow and still love it, what i was trying to find out is if anyone up north is going to appreciate the edits from Aus...

fuck it, if everyones going to be Narcs about it, no stress

if you're shredding it right, noone will, care might even make it better in some ways. I loved some of those Finnish edits from the beggining of the season where the guys were killing the urban with an inch or two of snow.

If you work with what you have to it's fullest it can be pretty sick and also more impressive creativity-wise.

Find some sick dirt gaps or gnarly rock jibs. Sketchier the better
