Stripped binding holes ugghh, any ideas?

AHH shit it happened again, My goddamn binding fell off and the holes are stripped.

Any ideas on a cheap-ass way to fix this?

i dont wanna spend a fortune on helecoils and stuff.
 
I was gonna say helicoils but since you don't wanna spend money take the bindings off, get the hole pattern and move back or forward a bit.

Check your local hardware store though and see if they have cheap helicoils they should be under $1 per and you just need to get a $5 tap.
 
I had the same problem this season. If your ski is completely symmetrical you can just turn the ski around and mount it the other way if the holes dont line up again! Thats what i did and it worked nicely! Goodluck!

You might try putting baking soda in the hole, then put some super glue in there. You might need to add a touch of water to the glue to make sure it's thin and flows well. Then drill and try again. No guarantee though.

Drill the whole way through the ski, flip the ski upside down and using a forstner bit drill until you remove the base material and hit the wood core, use a machine screw as your new binding hardware, once you have tightened down the bindings back on the ski fill the base back in with epoxy puddy, let cure and sand down the epoxy puddy level with the base. Ptex won’t work instead of the epoxy puddy, it is to brittle. Last season I did this with the heel pieces on my skis and never have had an issue, I’ve hit tons of rails and jumps, landing switch would put the most stress on the skis and still no issues. Hope this helps, I can take pictures of my skis and hardware if that helps.
 
^While creative, this is way more trouble than its worth just to save a few bucks. I wouldn’t want to compromise the base of my skis if I didn’t have to.

I wouldn't go for it unless it was my last resort

Drilling through your ski and exposing the core as well as fucking up your bases is probably not something you want to do

How much do you think helicoils cost? Just helicoil them or remount them and get the old holes plugged.

What do you mean by "it happened again". How many times has this happened, and who in the hell is mounting your skis?
