the greatest crashes ever in strike three, i tottaly agree. the best is when derek finn tries that double kink 81 times and doesnt get it once. and dave crichtons slam on that bridge...ouch right on the ice, it looks like his knee got pulled to shreds but i guees he was ok right?

watch out for the new Berman flick called 'forward', deff buy the new one.... i herd it will be twice as good as strike 3, and its hard to beat the quality of strike 3....

berman needs to get some 16 mil cameras they are so much better than digi cameras. you can just tell the dif between the two, there is no comparison. i hope 'forward' is 16 mil

josh's movies are sooo sick, and the digi works just fine for him. i think they look great, plus he doesn't have the budget that poorboyz & matchstick have. that movie is by far my favorite from last year. DC's bridge crash, Hibbert airing off the crazy kink, and the actual shot of candide slamming into the pole are insane crashes. and their's some sick skiing in there too. maybe a lil less of emil puking though and a lil more of ben skiing in forward :)

just to clear things up for the 100th time, i didn't hit that rail 81 times. not even close. berman just thought he would be funny and make that shit up. every shot that he used is almost every single shot on that piece of shit stupid rail. i probably hit it about 12 times before my finger was too fucked and i was over that gayness... oh and same goes for that stupid quad kink that i supposedly hit 350 or whatever times in one week. anyone who believes that must be retarded...

yah, strike 3 was definatly the tightest movie i have ever seen. bermans shots are soooooo sick and every segment is really dope. i can't wait for the next movie of his.

yeah but you know whats sad, the skiers see it as such a great fucking movie, one of the best last year and bermans best film to date by far. but ive seen mags and shit put them at like number 8 or 9 on the top video list, like what the balls happenned there? especially powder they said somethin like, level one productions attempt at a good movie seemed weak and the digi format is hard to watch...but overall a good movie i was like wtf is that this movie kicks ass. 16 mil would be better but its expensive, berman will be doin 16mil films soon if his movies keep getting better for now digi film is all good with me if thats all he can afford.

I don't think he dosn't do 16 mil just because of the money. He prefers what he does with the digi to 16 mil. At least thats what I read in some interview with him. I kind of like how one of the big name companies (since this year at least) filmed with digi. It makes it more refreshing and different then other films. But still, 16 mil is pretty sweet.

 
In powder they were basing it on BC/big mountain footage, thats why they were praising seth as a god (not that he doesnt deserver it) and thats also why SM3 got 1st.

 
digi is a lot easier to edit and shit right? he prob does digi also so he can edit it himself on his computer at home and he doesnt need darkrooms and big studios and offices and a big staff and shit. it all makes sense now

the quality in that movie looks fine. Why spend the money to do 16mm if it looks that good digi?

watch frontline and watch that movie and there is a clear difference. its not that bad at all but the first time i watched it, it was like choppy looking but after a while it looks fine. i guees its just me from watching a 16 mil film a lot and then going to that.

frontline was good...but so is strike 3 two totally different kinds of ski moveis. Frontline was more b/c and strike 3 was more freeride/urban stuff

im just talkin bout the film quality. not the content. i should asaid look at a berman movie then look at a matchstick movie the picture quality is a lot dif, matchstick coming out on top cuz of the 16 mil. not to say that strike three is bad though cuz its my favorite ski movie of the year.

I think digi is sick because it makes you realize that you can make sick movies yourself. And Strike Three was probably rated low in Powder because they are not as big of an advertiser in the magazine. I know that this may be hard to believe, but big companies like MSP can pay the magazine more for bigger ads and even pay them to write a good review for them.

there is no difference between editing 16mm and digi. it is the same. the 16 mm film footage is proccessed or developed and then transferred onto miniDv format. kinda like scanning a photo. the actual slide film isn't being cut and edited. many 16 mm productions are editing with the same format, programs and computers as level 1. the only difference is being the picture quality of the footage. it takes much more money and many more steps with using 16.
