Just Curious, anyone know why Strictly is making "delete" their last film? Super sad about this because they have been releasing some of the best shit in the game.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say some or most of the guys plan on getting “real” jobs where they can’t just take the entire winter off.

Plain and simple - street skiing and park skiing in general is very hard on the body and is not sustainable year after year in regards to long term health. You can only slam so many times before you break. There's hardly any money either. Most pro-levels skiers make just enough to get them through the winter months and then have to work their fingers to the bone in the off-season to sustain their lifestyle. Very few pro level skiers have the luxury of solely depending on skiing for their cash. At the end of a career in freeskiing, your body is damaged and you have no money. However, that is not an argument not to do it. All these guys got their heart in the game, are doing it just for the love and passion of the sport, which in my eyes, is the most respectable way to approach it.

we’re all growing up at diff speeds, things shifting, other projects and goals. better end it hot than let it fizzle. the crew worked really hard this year, can’t wait to see the clips.

Sam has had too many concussions to keep doing that shit, I think he’s realized he is very close to doing irreversible damage to his long term brain health and decided to just play it safe and quit while there’s still time to save his brain. Plus he settled down and got a real job (I believe him and Pete got the same job at some software place or something along those lines).

Idk about the rest but this is probably the smartest move, end while their careers are peaking and save themselves from going Nick martini mode on their bodies.

Also they have made enough movies to prove that they are quite easily one of the greatest crews in the history of the sport. They don’t have anything left to prove tbh, there is no reason to maintain that level of bodily and financial strain, all of em are gonna die legends what’s the point of expediting that ya know

Im still in the game homie. Painting houses at the moment and ill be skiing harder than ever this winter :)) ill never have a 9-5

in short “we’re going up” doing other stuff than just only focusing on skiing as our sole purpose in life. Everyone is still going to be skiing in some capacity, it just wont be through a full length Strictly film together.

however, what i think none of us plan to do is move on from skiing altogether

I meant it in the way where he was just pushing it so hard year after year that he wound up with injuries that prevented him from ever skiing again, I didn’t mean like quit skiing entirely, every pro then and now is producing content to some degree for the rest of their life, it’s like a curse lol

There is something to be said for skiing just for fun instead of the film and all the pressure that comes with it. Hopefully you guys can still leverage the filming/editing side like STEPT did.

Respect and thank you to all the members of the crew for giving us these flicks. They gave them to us, FOR FREE. That's a lot of labor-intensive summer job hours, constant sponsor jockeying for money, lining up everyone's schedule, living cheap AF, and trying to outdo yourself every year. This crew has done it out of their love of skiing and being creative.

What a collection of individuals. Excited to see the many different paths people take from here. Thank you Strictly Crew!

TY you all for the hard work and grit. Some of the best ski content we'll ever see. Love these vibes. Also that shot of the hotload with SAR coming in with the heli is super fucking hard kinda haha. But Im glad everyone got home safe.
