Strept throat or possibly tonsilitis has ruined my ski vacation

so today I was supposed to drive up to my uncles new "lake/ski house" its about an hour from farmington, maine, so just about halfway between sugarloaf and sunday river. The plan was to spend the whole week up there skiing the two resorts (whichever looked better for weather on the particular day).

However, yesterday I started having this real sore throat, hurt really bad everytime I swallowed. Woke up this morning and it was like 10 times worse, there was a coating of mucasy shit in the back of my throat that made it really hard to talk or swallow, and it all hurt pretty good. so I showed my mom and she took one look with a flashlight and said i have either strept or tonsilitis.

long story short:

woke up with a throat infection, was supposed to go skiing for a week starting today, instead I get to stay home while everyone else goes up, then go to the doctor tommorow and try and get meds. then I get to either wait some more to heal some, or drive up myself to the house and heal up there. at least they got ps3 with cod n shit up there.
 
i'm sorry you feel so bad. I'm a strep throat carrier, i always have it in me but it has to be triggered by something for me to actually start showing symptoms, and even when they do show, I've had it so much that it doesn't bother me anymore. i just pop some chloroseptic cough drops, garlge some salt water and i'm on my way. Feel better!
 
thats sucks bro, ++ vibes. buy a super-sized bag of halls cough drops (the strawberry vanilla flavored good kind) and just go skiing and eat handfulls of them all day.
 
yeah I'm gonna get some cough drops, but i still want to go see the doc tommorow just to make sure its not tonsilitis or something gnarly like that. once i see him I think i'm gonna head up there either that night or tuesday morning. I've been gargling mad salt water and shit. grossest thing ever: the big white spots on the back of my throat! so fucking gross!
 
yeah check on your tonsils, if theres white then you probally had strep throat. I always use to get strep throat and i got my tonsils out it's a huge difference
 
yeah they're slightly inflamed and have white spots of bacterial infection. never had any kind of throat infection before, so this blows extra hard.
 
i would ski through many things, diaharea is not one of them. I'd ski but i gotta go to the doctors to get meds. but i'ma be skiing after that. so really it only ruined my first 2 days of ski vacation.
 
some buckleys will clear that shit right up. and hit a slope. id hope your sore throat comes with a high fever otherwise you have no excuse young man!
 
what are buckleys?? i'm runnin a mild fever and a brutal headache but read my above posts^ i'ma hit the slopes after i see the doc tommorow.
 
excuse me? maybe im going to have to google this but, you carry step throat 365?
like aid's....just re-occurring whenever it wants to?
