yea, it take alot of work designing shit and getting a team put together. it will prolly be out by feb but i wnat to pla it safe.

yah siver is tight, but remember this is like they're 5th year in production, give the other companys a chance if they wanna stay around they will have to make better clothing with better prices, the more companys around the better that will in the end drive prices down an up the quality of products

yah im down with rider made stuff..but the prices all really suck..i mean, a lot of skiers dont have much money in the first place...err...maybe a lot have money too...yeah i dunno...point is, i'm down with the cheaper prices

Seriously look how many surf and skate clothes everyone loves. There are hundreds. Skiing already has ahit like Spyder Salomon Rossi and shit like that but the aspect of newschool or freestyle skiing is relatively new so hence its companies are small and new. Give it time u will eat ur words like the stupid ass u are! And when they blow up i hope u still dont wear their clothes!

simma, you took the key's to ma beemer.

I own Bottle Cap Productions and I'll represent myself here. We aren't a street clothing company, why do we have 'productions' in our name? We just came out with our video 'Prohibited' avalible for $10 bucks. we're working on the new site. And it takes more work than you'll know until you do it to even come out with a shirt. Taker easy buddy, we do what we love doing. simple isn't it!

OK. i have read all the posts in this and it has just made me realize again that most people on this site don't have a clue how the business world works. there were good points on both sides, but fuck.... you put a logo on a shirt and then you are a company. damn... i should stop makin films and just print off t-shirts and trucker hats and change the industry with my NEW idea. starting a business isn't that easy. there are marketing plans, cost analisists, brand imaging, and so on. if you all think that putting a logo on a shirt and saying you have a business means that you have a business, then i can't wait till you reallize that you are wrong. how many of theses core streetware companies are going to SIA???? i would have to assume none. (i am not including siver in this comment cause they are for real) SIA is the STARTING POINT to trying to sell shit. if you aren't there you can't see where your shop market is cause you don't have a clue what is out there. you would be suprized how much crap is out there in skiing that is CORE.

basicly if you are going to start a company do it the right way. come in to the industry head first with a full line of cool new shit. don't come in with a shirt or 2 come in with TONS of shit. and if you really belive that your CORE newschool ski company is going to make it. prove to the rest of theworld it is going to make it buy putting EVERYTHING you have in to it, spend hundreds of hours a month thinking about it. go out and get a fucking huge loan, find manufactures, then make a product and test it. then fix the problems. then do it again untill you have something that will compete in the REAL market. put it in FREEZE and make millions.

ha yeah right.

this thread is a year old, but anyways i still think all these streetware companies are a bit played out. Make a t-shirt with something that resembles skiing insted of some weird looking logo.

For example, mountains, snow, skiier suiloutes of sequence shots and so on

Otherwise i may aswell wear my GAP and Old Navy shirts. its the same thing free advertising

The link levin threw down is a flawless example of a company that just fucking rapes your shallow theory, RVCAclothing. If you saw some of the shit frin 't-shirt only companies' that are sold at shops around me you would be blown away. They arent t-shirts, they are art. Abstract progressive clothing is blowing up here in california and it wont be long before everybody in the United States and other countries for that matter will be fully emersed in it.

I would never think of telling NS forums about most of these companies because narrow minded faggets like you dont have the ability to just sit back and appreciate peoples good work. If you think that all printed shirts are the same as their blank k-mart counterparts you are terribly wrong my friend.

oh, and all my hatred is directed to simmers, the piece of trash who brought up this discussion

yes, stuff like that is art, also airbrusing on t-shirts which is very impressive to me, but these 'CORE' skiing companies that make t-shirts really dont have anything to do with skiing. Just some meaningless logo silkscreened on.

HOW DOES THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SKIING??

All I know is NSC is dope, sickest clothing. The logos are great and the quality is amazing.

Why, BK, I don't recall saying anything about art t-shirts. I was talking about 'skiing' t-shirts, and 'skiing' companies. And I sure as fuck never said a goddamn thing about RVCA.

Go ahead and direct hatred at me. Simply bear in mind that the reason for your hatred is completely irrelevant in this discussion. Furthermore, realize that it does not pertain, even loosely, to anything that I have stated.

My apologies, i didnt read your post very carefully because i am a lazy piece of shit. The generalization of streetwear threw me off. I just like to keep hope, that some ski company will get smart and make sick artistic stuff. With your member number being 50, you have been around long enough to know that things are only getting better with time, hopefully a new ski specific company will come along with some abstract sleez and make you, me, everybody very happy. Just try to stay positive.

hahaha, simma down now simmers. I personally support streetwear companies and any business stemming from our obscure niche of action sports. Although I cannot deny the validity of some of the points which have been made in this thread, I think that much of the animosity towards these small companies is misdirected. Everyone is so caught up in claiming that such and such a brand is not 'core' that they fail to realize that a logo on a T-shirt is ultimatley no more than a logo on a T-shirt. Danny Kass makes a living off of kids who represent his company by spray painting Grenade logos everywhere. I am stoked every time that I see someone wearing a piece of skiing-related clothing because i recognise that they share common interests and a common passion for the sport. I do not get this sensation when i see someone wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch T-shirt. Those who don't like streetwear companies, DON'T BUY THEIR SHIT. I have trouble understanding why you are pissed off that more money is going back into the ski industry instead of elsewhere. If you don't like these comapanies now, don't hate on them, that just sucks for everyone. Maybe if you leave their 'gayness' alone for a while they will have something cool to offer in a few years. Siver has managed to do it, why not give someone else a chance? I respect Simmers very much as a skier and an all around intelligent and good kid. this is merely my opinion. peace

simmers - what brand of clothing do you wear?

No matter what you have to support t shirt making (unless you never wear a shirt) so why not support a company related to skiing? You are giving to the sport too, siver puts on the siver sessions with money made through the company (and alot from sponsors)- and its a safe bet nomics and sublux would do the same if they could get the same kind of success.

But i could care less about what you have to say about my statement, and more about what kind of clothes you wear that dont support t shirt making.

Good poind liam. i had a skateboard company that went out of buisness and i am curently in the midst of creating a 'clothing Company'. Im doing this cause i fuckin want to. i want to reperzent skiing to the fullest because were i live skiing is looked down apon. im doing it because of my artistic talent and love for the sport. i want and i am going to put somthing different out there. mix it up a lttle bit. but i am not looking to be some totally 'core' company were there all makin bandannas and shit. im gonna do my my own shit with hot ass abstract draving and designs and what not. and if you guys dont like it well personally fuck it.

i grow cotton in my backyard and i raise silkworms in my basement. i weave all my own fabrics and then use them to manufacture my own clothing.

The stuff is nice but its freaking expensive. Anyone who has worked a resort has no money. Id rather save what money I got for skis, beer, and pizza.
