Street Racing

I dont care if you put your own lives in danger.But when you put others in danger is just fucking dumb. If you have torace you cars, you and your tough guy buddies go the go-cart track and a couple laps.

Unless of course its a closed leagal street race type thing, then I have no beef.
 
i race around boulder and denver someitmes, and im driving an eclipse an impreza, soon to be a mustang or 3000gt. and its usually at 1am or later so there its hardly putting other lives at danger

On a sidenote, I think "street racing" as you toy ass call it is fucking gay. Its just who has the most money. Start autocrossing, and then see who can drive. Fuck having a fast car that can't do shit on a real course. Stop light to stop light racing is for fags.

yeah but box only puts you and the other competitor in danger. And its in a safer enviroment.

but i guess you could consider it contrdiction to a slight degree.

ive boxed and the only danger your in is what u allow yourself to be in depending on how much skill and determination u have plus u have to have some balls.
 
It's not about driver talent. Any dumbwit can press the pedal and make a shift. It takes real skill to auto-x and read the course and make the best line choice.

Anyways, as far as safety. The only crashes that have occured locally from street racing where a bunch of tards in slow ass cars, driving around drunk. In which case it was drunk driving that caused the accident.

Going to the 1/4 mile track is a fun time, but I'd take Auto-X any day of the week.
 
uhh are u serious? it has alot to do with the driver. half the fuckers dont even know how to shift, when to shift, nor do they know the best powerband of their car. like I said its all about tuning and parts that fit your style of drive. most people just swap shit in and never tune until some big upgrade like a turbo. big NO NO
 
Go drive an autocross, where you still need to do every single one of those things you said, but also have a perfectly tuned suspension, and an inate sense of balance of the car, and knowing how to make that 3rd to 2nd downshift without throwing the balance of the car. Knowing how to threshold brake at 100%, and the exact moment to turn-in, at the exact correct speed to maximize you're speed throughtout the course, and just simply reading the course and picking your line.

Dragging compared to autocross is like comparing a monkeys intelligence to a humans intelligence.

street racing can be like an auto-x but in the streets of a city or any area.

i plan on street racing when i get a lil older (im 16).. my sister has a new subaru legacy 2.5gt and it drives really nice with all of its stock parts, i like it a lot

when i use to race i drove a bmw 325i coupe and to anyone saying its all about which car your dad bought you, i payed for that sucker in full all by my lonesome, but i dont race any more
 
believe it or not most of the guys that race or autox pay for everythign on their own, i paid for mine in full, its an eagle talon and they way i have it done up it beats alot of the cars on the road.

I dunno, I don't have any desire to do anything like that on a street. It'd be cool to take your car to a track and boot around, but racing isn't my thing. Go Kelly Clarkson!

i race a 98 dodge dakota with a supersharged 360 ci creat motor with a 100 shot of nos 9.5 seconds on the quarter mile
 
dude whats with all the hate, the way most of us race is pretty dam safe, i cant speak for all the people on this thread, but when we did we had cars blocking all entrances to the road we were on to avoid a colllision and we did it at like 3am to avoid pedestrians
 
really what do you have done to it? beside the charger and NAWS! do you have heads or a cam? how many lbs of boost r u running?
 
i agree. Unless you live in a big city, LA Chitown or the like, i really dont see that you are gonna orgainize a huge setup like that two times a week.

autoX is single car time trials through a series of cones, they usually set up the layout at an airport or parking lot.
 
yeah, eagle talons are mad expensive if you ever fu*k anyhthing up. a dude was pretty much trying to give me one at $4 G- but the transmition was gone, and it wasn't worth it, the car was done up too, but he drove the sh*t out of it, not to mention, the engine would go the way i like to drive. then i'd have a $4 G paperweight

but it would look cool at least
