street racing aint cool mang, my brothers friend hit someone head on and almost was paralyzed and sent to jail for a long time for invoulentary manslaughter.

stupid way and a half smart way.

in boise no one has been hurt racing we keep it all pretty calm

cops know what we r doing they come out and just drive by and leave.

 
as long as you do it on closed roads and are somewhat safe about it then good but its just not worth it to fuck your shit up, so many kids where i live die in car accidents cause they are being dumb.
 
Sometimes I mean rarely we do freeway pulls..I am sort of forced to do freeway pulls because i tend to burn out to 120mph..i can't race say a evo from a dig.

We just keep the racing on a back road that you can see either way for miles..

only race down the road not back towards people.

kids with there little civics are dumb..
 
stage 3 srt4 with toys

im getting a 50 trim for christmas thank god for my gf

once i get that 50 trim ill be hitting 500whp easy

im doing a meth injection because race gas is to spendy 6 gallons is running about 40 bucks

soo ill be even a little more quicker

I had a nicer car a 05 evo i bought it off one of my friends it was beat up..i dumped some cash into it and after i had it all tuned put on race gas i took it out to the track and blew the t-case into a million pieces i rebuilt the tranny and t case but it wasn't that great of a rebuild...i traded the evo in on a 01 volvo for my family i wrecked that car after about 3 months...said i would never street race again but i am back doing it again after less then a year.

im addicted.

i know this kid who has spent like 10 grand on his srt4 just so he can cruise around and beat piece of shit hondas so he can think he is a badass,  its seriously all he does all day every day, he has no life.   

street racing is way gay,  it takes no tallent to go in a straight line, especially in the shitty ricers most people race, and half the time its from a roll anyway. 

go to a track and learn to actually drive, not just floor it and shift up. throw in cornering, braking, car control, downshifting, passing, every one of those alone is alot harder than going straight. driving on a track is for real drivers, street racing is for people who want to look badass but are too scared to actually drive.

Ill race sometimes if theres no one around and its safe. I drive an 02 WRX with a Cobb Accessport, Cobb Downpipe (stage 2 285hp). Fun fast car.
 
racing is fun, but you're going to be pretty pissed at yourself when you realize how retarded it was to spend a shit load on cars in high school
 
2002 Audi A4 wagon. not done yet but so far only has sport suspension diverter valve turbo back exhaust a test pipe and have a air intake waiting to be put on. tryin to save up for the chip or a bigger turbo.
 
You drive a damned Neon dude. There are Civics that would TRASH your SRT-4 in both drag, and actual track racing.
 
that's not really true, manufactures use stage descriprions all the time. Stage 3 is pretty cool tho. to the op you should join the car cult there's another dude with a modded srt4
 
sounds like you got a fuckin fast car, but drag cars aren't exactly my thing. i would prefer a 300hp car that handles well over a 500hp drag car any day
 
Wow a lot of srt-4 hate in here. I'm sure even a stock one is faster than anything most of you have driven in,, or even ridden in for that matter.

This thread maker is at least tolerable. Like he isn't an annoying ricer kid. Usually it's kids saying "I want to tune up an import and put some rims on it what shoudl I get?" and there are a million responces saying, yo get a civic and a cold air intake and an exaust you'll get another 50+ hp!!

My hate for SRT-4's is that Neon's are shitboxes even if they are SRT-4s. outward vision is terrible, and the interior quality is piss-poor.

I have owned 2 cars that are faster than a stock SRT-4 in both straight-line and on a real track. They aren't THAT fast. I'd much rather have my 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo than a Neon SRT-4.

All that said, street racing blows. Learn to actually drive and do Solo II.
 
srt-4's are stupid. fast in a straight line yes, but take it to a track and you get destroyed by just about everything.

for the price srt4's are about as fast as you're gona get in a straight line. And to you guys talking about neons, I wasn't aware that neons came with turbos. ooo boho the interior is cheap, what were you expecting for a $20,000 car that produces 215 hp. comparing a srt4 to a neon is like comparing a wrx to a na impreza
 
i drove a normal neon and an srt4 around the track at a racing school and yeah the srt4 is pretty much a neon with a turbo, i liked the normal neon around corners more than the srt4 cause it had more body roll which i think helped it oversteer sometimes, while the srt4 had terrible understeer.  both are some of the shittiest cars ive ever been inside of, and it was just annoying to drive them around the track.  its a domestic companies attempt at making an import, and they did a very shitty job,  its even shitty for an american car.
 
C'mon guys get real, don't we have better shit to do then diss neons? one persons you ever heard of saying 'one persons soldier is another persons enemy?' same thing applys to cars...its bassicly what you like, and to people who liike what they have they're not going to give a shit what you think.
 
To be honest I'd be street racing every day if I knew I wouldn't get caught. Ontario has very strict laws on it though. So I still street race, Im just way more careful about it. The satisfaction of smoking neons/civics/sunfires/probes is huge. And the adrenalin rush cant be beat
 
We've had a lot of deaths due to street racing in the past 5 years in Ontario. Basically if you get caught going over 50km/hr over the speed limit you get a minimum of a $3000 fine (I think that's correct) your car is automatically impounded and you can bet your ass you'll be spending some time in the slammer. O ya you also lose your license for an extended period of time depending on the circumstances.
 
no it is true though, because if i ask you what you did to your car and you say stage 3 tune, ill just say yea, but what makes a stage 3 tune? is it a cat-back exhaust with test pipes?, upgraded turbo what kind? gt28?

by saying stage 3 it makes it very vague to the person who is asking. it could be anything for all i know. so once again calling modifications in stages is lame.
 
if you don't know what the general stages are for a car then maybe you should do some research. If someone said to me "I have a stage 2 wrx" I would know they have an intake, TBE and a tune. If you want to know specifics go ahead and ask, I doubt the owner of the car would mind getting into the details. 
 
i dunno about anyone else but i dont get too much satisfaction from smoking any of those cars. doesnt really take too much. granted if they are heavily modified then yes they will be more of a challenge but that is usually a rare case.

as for the road track vs 1/4 mile. build your car for what YOU enjoy. duh a drag car will suck on a twisty track but the same goes for a track car on a drag strip. i personally want neither car and will always be more concerned with making my car more fun and enjoyable for every day driving.
 
Ok the reason I left the evo is because I broke a 1,800 dollar piece it wasn't really put together to great my gears were going out no warranty what so ever. If you put a boost controller or even a exhaust on a evo it voids the warrantry I could not afford for something to break again I just don't have cash like that laying around took me 4 months of piecing the car back together.

My semi final run I was running I blew the t case because i was bouncing of the rev limit at 8 grand and dropped the clutch blew the t case in half My run I trapped 11.5 at 119 mph which is good on a stock 16g turbo on mix race gas.

No I'm not in High school im 22 years old.

What else did I see. Oh yeah civics had not had one keep up with me yet I out run r-6's and gsxr750s like nothing.

Srt-4 stage 3 comes with a 15g fuel rail fuel injectors map sensors fuel pump toys which are the intercooler sprayer inside boost controller which i dont use because i only was peaking 22 pounds and holding 18 because the computer goes off the temp outside. now im peaking 27 on race gas holding 24 by making a few minor changes

stage 3 doesnt come with a exhaust i run a straight pipe right to the center of the car.

I like my srt a little more then the evo for the fact that its cheap if stuff breaks pieces are so easy to come by.

anyways talk your crap about srt4s they are a sick car for a cheap price better then getting upside down over your head on a car that won't keep up with me.

 
i don't take the time to research the meanings of ricer terminology. just tell me what you have, not some stupid stage numbers.
 
yeah that shit sucks .....i got a ticked for 48 km over a little while ago ... i was sooo closed to losing my license ... but i fought it and got it dropped to 29 over
 
Neon or not your SRT4 is pretty baller. I would usually hate on Neon's, but I mean i'm pretty sure yours can rip. I've seen stock SRT4's driving at high speeds and acceleration seems pretty damn decent.
