Street/Cruiser Skateboard Setup

I used to street skate a little and for a period of time got more into longboarding. Life came and I got out of it in general, but I'm looking to get back into it again.

At this point I'm looking to just blend a bit of both. I'm looking to mostly cruise around town without it being the bumpiest ride in the world. However, I still want the freedom to ollie easily over curbs and what not/hit up the skatepark on occasion and maybe grind a few rails.

I had thought about the Arbiter DK (http://originalskateboards.com/longboards/arbiter-36-dk-longboard-skateboard) but I am thinking about maybe just building my own setup?

Do you all have any suggestions? Maybe like a 8.5" board, but would you recommend Indy 169s or Indy 149s? I was thinking something like 60mm wheels?

I'd appreciate it if you would post what you think would be the best setup for what I am looking to do.

Thanks!

I have been riding welcome skateboards for a while now and they are very sick and durable, would definitely recommend. I have had both a 9.125 and a 8.4 and I think either would be good for what you are describing. I would probably more recomend >9 because it is a very nice and comfy to use for cruising I bet especially if you come from a longboard background. For wheels I think around 60 would be good but you should get a around 90 durometer . I have found ti to be the perfect mix of being a smoother ride with less vibrations and not being too bouncy so they are still good for tricks.

on nhs funfactory there are some great deals on rayne decks, which are really high quality. I highly recommend the renegade

i would go with a welcome deck, some 60s, 8.5-9 depending on your feet, and 149s. welcomes are too fun and are super sick looking. that arbiter deck is 120 for just the deck, and that seems a bit steep to me

Thanks for the help everyone! I think I am leaning more towards the 9" now for sure. I agree that the Arbiter seems way overpriced. The Bustin YoFace 35" board looks pretty sick. But those Welcome boards have some great price points for sure. I know I wont need risers if I go with the YoFace because it has some wheel cut outs on the board. However, price wise the Welcome boards are tempting me.

If I go with one of the 9" Welcome boards with 169 Indys do you think I will need any risers if I am using a 60mm wheel?

Thanks again.
