Streching a hat

I have out grown my favorite hat, and that makes me sad, is there any way to strech it out so it'll fit my head better? (a new one would cost 30 bucks, and I don't have that kind of cash)

Take one of those clamps and close it so your hat fits over it, then slowly open it and rotate your hat so you get an even stretch.

I have never tried that before, but it seems like it would work.
