Strattons park

i went to stratton 2 weeks ago and the park was skectchy at the least it was good but i think since we got all that snow they will open suntanner and will have a few more rails and jumps set up

so to awnser you question

yup

thats my last name, my dad owns it the park is okay now its a lil sketchy

nooooo just kidding b

but that really is my last name

i was there today and the park was sick, good conditions and the jumps were really nice. They were pushing snow and setting stuff up on suntanner, so it should be open this weekend. Looks huge from what I saw on the chair

i was there yesterday, heres a complete setup (rail lengths are estimate):

small park: 20' flat rail

30' flat box

10'-10' up-down

banked box jib

medium park: 20' down rail

20-25' jump with ok kick

20-25' jump with no kick

decent sized trap box

the big park was being built, should be ready by the weekend

only skied half day today, but suntanner was finished when i left, idk if they opened it though, i left at 12, but suntanner has:

25ft jump

30ft jump

35ft jump

40ft jump

40-45ft jump

all step downs

then a choice of a d-f-d with death kinks or urban down rail

choice of up gap down box, up down rail(40ft), then a roller coaster

choise of 20ft up rail, 20ft wall ride tall box comb, f-d-f mellow kinks 30ft

the park looks so nice, biggest park in the east probably, i mean a 5 jump line before christmas

They opened Suntanner around 1pm. Its pretty nice. Last jump is pretty big, landing is somewhat odd. First 2 are really nice, the third was closed off. Rails are all set up real nice. Much better than what they had going at this time last year, myself and LD will be shooting a fair amount over the next few days and have a nice lil edit for all of you.

I got out of work at stratton at 3 so I got to ski the last hour and it was mad fun. The dfd looks like death, didn't hit it, but the other rails were real smooth and fun. All the jumps were real goo too.

i went up today, left around 10:30 cuz they were grooming the parks and didnt feel like waitin around
the fdf rail is set up horribly in my opinion, huge gap on, im not a fan of ride ons but the way they set this up is stretchin it a little, makes it pretty hard to trick cuz you have to go somewhat fast at it

it survived the rain...rode it today and was fun. pretty hard and fast though. i don't suggest falling because it hurts like hell.

damn shit was beautiful today, that 2nd jump is so fucking perfect. Lapping that all day long. Video to come eventually. You guys are gonna be so damn stoked when you see this shit! Downey was slaying today.

so, someone in my family had the brilliant idea of going to stratton this (holiday?) weekend. skiing sat, sun, and mon. from what i gather the park seems ok, but hows the crowds? i was up there Rails to riches weekend and the little park was good, apparently you needed a park pass? whats the deal with that.

Ya you need the Safety Education Session pass (SES), you watch this like 10 minute video, sign a paper, you get it. Its really easy and takes no time. Its actually a damn good idea.

yea park passes are a good idea for sure. i was looking for more like, how do i go about getting it. and do they have special hours for when they show the video?

friday night you guys are supposed to get something like 3-7" right?

Im not sure how much snow were supposed to get, Im actually going to NYC tomorrow. But, Im pretty sure they show the park video very frequently, basically all day, probably not after 2 or 3pm or something though.

im about to stop at straton one day this week to hit some of thos jumps. i havnt been there in a while. What do you have to do to get that SES park pass thing?

ive been at stratton the past 4 days, the ses pass is easy to get, its a 5 minute video, you have to sign some shit, takes about 10 minutes depending on how many people are getting it, they do it about every 10-12 minutes, the skiing has sucked, everythings open but its all fake snow and ice and you cant get an edge in the snow, suntanner park is sick, rela nice jumpline with 4 kickers, first 2 are big, 3rd and 4th are fucken huge, launch you real high and far and are superfun cus the landings are all smooth, they have a rollercoaster box, dfd, fdf, downrail, flat down, wallride/box, up box gap to down box, and they shoudl be getten about 5 inches tonight

check the edit in the vids section stratton looks crazy. By far the biggest early season jumps I have ever seen for the east.

it is truly painful to hit the rails on suntanner. with the exception of the up rail and box/wall.

no landings at all and the rails are like 5 feet high at the ends. jumps were alright though.

all in all, great time. got a good amount of snow too.

me toooooo!! im stoked for this weekend, i wasnt there over christmas break so i havnt seen suntanner yet yay!

does anyone know where to buy alcohol around stratton....i know this is rediculous, but yeah i lost my ID so i cant really strole into any store, so people give me some places that dont card

no where. trust me. they are really strict around there cause cops always run stings on the stores with minors.

oh gay, some kid was claiming the 7 11 before the acess road, im glad i asked before i made an ass out of myself, looks like ill have to stop before i come up

definitely not. They are really strict there because they've lost their liquor license before.

That would be the last place to try without an id. Shit, even with a real id they can be a bunch of asses
