in honor of pictures like this...

here is the official discussion thread for stratton 13/14!

GA GA GIT IT

I have a season pass to Stratton. My whole family has season passes to Stratton.

My dad is a ski patroller at Stratton.

I.

Hate.

Stratton.

What are lift ticket prices this year, $120?

i feel like that trail has a lot of potential to be an awesome park. nice and wide, mellow, but you can get a decent amount of speed.

Is it hikeable yet? I wanna head up for a few turns, but don't feel like going all the way to Killington. There has to be enough snow on the trails they're blowing on, right?

i dont know, but from what i can tell they have only tested the snow guns. they haven't been blasting for cover. i can let you know next weekend, im going up for some work related stuff.

If you're planning on getting the Stratton/Mount Snow Double Down Pass, please see this thread...

sounds like you have a major stick up your butt dude. Also, if everyone you know has season passes, why do you care how much a lift ticket costs?

Because

1. my immediate family =/= everyone I know, and

2. I care about people being able to ski for a fair price. Our sport is expensive enough as it is. Stratton's prices are fucking ludicrous, especially given the quality of the mountain.

Ill be there the sunday after thanksgiving! and then every sunday after that. love the $199 sunday pass. see you guys up there! hope they set up big ben better this year.

Will be up every weekend once the mountain opens. /claim

It's a love/hate relationship with the mountain and I.

Just keeping everybody posted, if you don't follow Stratton on Instagram/twitter/Facebook or whatever snowmaking started today. It's also lightly snowing here at the mountain. Get excited!

word, i wish park crew knew how to shape a lip though. the lips are always super low and require jordan hops to get on.

anybody from the nyc- danbury,ct - poughkeepsie , ny area tryin to go sunday? I'm meeting a friend at stratton whose coming from boston and some gas money and company would really help

If anybody skiing Stratton and or Mount Snow I'm thread jacking you over to my season pass sales thread: https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/763011/

stratton have anything fun set up? Ill be there over christmas.

ALSO AN EPIC SKI SALE AT SMS SCHOOL ON SATURDAY. CHEAP BOOTS and CHEAP TWIN TIPS

stratton was pretty nice today considering the rain they got earlier in the week. a ton open and the small park was fun to get back into the swing of things. see you guys next weekend

snow/strat passholder

is Stratton park built up yet? cuz snow is about to have Gulch with 15+ and Nitro Jumpline with 20 feats

its tough to compare stratton to mt snow when it comes to park. mt snow has a different philosophy than stratton. i wish stratton would get back to the days of skincancer having the park with the pipe at the bottom. started to get that way end of last season with the event it was set up for but its just not the same.

for me, once stratton gets snow, its all about the woods and just finishing a run by going through the park to dabble.

suntanner used to have the best park in the east. That shit was on point. Oh how the times have changed. Remember the bus?

yup! i use to love the first jump with two take offs, into a really long hip and then the 3 jump line where the last one was massive! and then the pipe was on the skier's left baking in the sun to perfection most days

dude that last jump was always so big. They used to have a legit slopestyle type setup. But obviously a shitty nastar course is way more important.

last jump was insane, i remember i was like 10 and we had some kid tuck it..overshot the landing by a good 10-20ft

confession: when i was little, i was scared to grind the bus and when i did it my edges caught...so yeah

my friend hit that huge jump when we were like 11-12 and he cased it. i think he fractured both his heels, we had to carry him down on our shoulders (didn't have cell phones to call ski patrol, wasn't that far from the bottom anyway)

a very icy sunday at stratton. tyro was fun to jib around in. to the individual with the 802 spray painted on his helmet, very nice rail work today. you had a very clean switchup to 450 out.

annual Stratton edit while I am home for Christmas. If anybody wants to ski!

Anybody thats there, do you think big ben may be open by christs mass?

I skied down middlebrook the other day, its closed still i think, and when i was going through sunbowl/shooting star area, looks like they haven't even come close to getting sunbowl ready. i'd give it another 1-2 months before Big Ben opens.

yeah Stratton had like 20" fresh yesterday. was fun to blast through glades

THE PARK needs to step up. small mountains with 500vert have better park.....

meh, we get a meltdown every year. might as well do it early while we still have all this snow.

hahaha shit thats bad. well our thaw is out of the way, snowguns should be back on.i can't wait to get back up. I've been stuck in my house filling out college apps for the last 2 weeks -_____-

Already got those done and know where im going. good luck.

yeah today was sick, besides you couldn't get to tyro and big ben being closed. you had to hike from villager or duck the ropes which everyone had been doing.

Black Bear had some nice snowgun powder, which was a lot of fun.

Wasn't crowded really but a shit ton of Asians...everywhere.

Also, I've been noticing Liam Downey has been around a lot recently for the holidays, usually never see him around here.

today was busy but fun. Good weather, and lines died down. Big ben and tyrolliene are both a blast, keeping in mind you are at Stratton and not carinthia. Thanks for a great christmas break stratton. See ya next year.

Good to know it's calmed down, I'm heading up tomorrow. It was insane Saturday, their rental fleet got some serious use this weekend.

another storm thursday. here's to hoping for a foot of fresh for the weekend now that all the expert level beginners have gone home after the holiday.

today was empty for me..

spent the morning lapping Big Ben, moved over to URSA in the afternoon. a lot of laps done compared to the last two days.

stratty ice is looking prime. good base, hopefully we don't lose too much this weekend. next storm (if we get one) will be awesome

ill be up MLK weekend. hopefully ill be able to get over to big ben at least once. The people im staying with don't exactly understand freeskiing
