Strange question

I was wondering, is there a camera with a small body like a point and shoot, but with interchangeable lenses like on a DSLR.

I want something small and light, but can take some arty farty pictures when the time comes.

Basically, what is the smallest DSLR you can get?

Nikon D40 or Canon Rebel XS

They're small and shit tons better than any point-and-shoot... though they aren't that small. Get a short lens though, like the 50mm f/1.8, and the D40 can be sick- you don't need pro SLRs to take good photos.

yeah i'm not looking to be a pro haha

just want something that i can take good pictures with, and film some good footage, nice and easy.

I saw the Nikon D3100 does full HD filming, 12mp pictures and looks pretty sleek. am i right? i was i just looking at a deceptive photo haha?

to op, anything bigger than like a canon s90 is too big to put in your pocket, so you might as well go with an entry level slr if you have the money. If it has live view, it will be just like a point and shoot, but you also have a lot more options. Ik you want a small one, but the 4/3 market is really small right now and there is no like flagship or perfect on yet imo. also, you will need a bag for lenses or flashes, so it sounds like you would be best off with an slr

thanks for all the help guys! i decided that i might as well go with an entry level DSLR. if i am gonna be spending so much, might as well make it a little better.

any recommendations for a cheap DLSR that can always to HD filming?

the cannon rebel is pretty small, but gets the job done.

i have 3 different lenes that give a wide variety of effects.

canon t2i

the nikon d3100 will have AF, but i think its only 1080 24p and 720 30p, but the canon is 1080 30p and 720 60p
