Strange incident at killington.. is my friend lying?

last year my friend was up at Killington skiing around... when ski patrol stopped him, told him he was skiing way too fast... made him go into the lodge or some building and watch a 45minute long movie about skier safety. If he didnt they would pull his pass.

This year... he doesnt wants to go to Killington.

I asked him if he was raped in the butt, and he said no.

possibly I mean I've seen that video. It is standard and we had to watch it because we bout group passes

that is possible because now at okemo there is a no tollerance rule so if you are skiing fast, you get you ticket pulled. That is worse that having to watch a 45 min. movie

they also apparently have a no tolerance rule when it comes to skiing switch. i came down near the main mtn switch and i saw an okemo employee standing near the hot dog lodge or whatever the hell its called, so i politely waved at him and waved his finger and me and told me to turn around. whatever. i paid $74 for my ticket and wasnt about to give it up after only riding for 30 mins

I have never been stopped for skiing too fast at killington, and i have been skiing here for my whole life. People are saying that they are cracking down more on skiing on closed trails, but that was the only extra rule enforcing they are doing.

I don't even know if my hill pulls tickets but alot of the instructors will tell gapers that they will take their passes if they keep doing stuff like going off the sides of jumps onto rails or just being stupid in general.

shit really? I was there over the holiday and I skied right past an instructor switch and he was saying to people watch out on your left and to me he was like oh and on your right. it was an older guy and he didn't seem to care.

oh shit winterplace. damn, thats impressive. never seen any mountain smart enough to do that.

Someone at sugar mountain in nc got their pass pulled for skiing switch. There were no rules posted and the patroller didn't give him a warning. This was on a weekday too, so it wasn't crowded. The ski patroller said he wasn't in control so he clipped his ticket. He tried to talk to the owner, but the owner is a huge d bag, so that mountain is very gay.

Haha. I love it here on the west coast...

no gay patrollers saying "skiing too fast"

Or at least at the mountains I ski at...

shiiit.

true that man.. sugar is pretty gay. i was up there a couple of weekends ago and they were all about bitchin bout my speed. i really wasn't even goin fast either.. it was pretty fuckin gay.

i wish more places would start doing this

yesterday a kid jumped up the side of the landing of the flat box and just faceplanted and was lying there right under the end of the box until his dad moved him sooo if i hadnt been laughing at the kid/paying attention we woulda had a squished kid on our hands

haha! america and its silly rules! in the alps if you do a switch gaper slalom at 50mph you'll get high fives from teh instructors!

damn, wow. so this could have taken someone out and buried them? or was it more like a ton slough? that sucks about the cam man. also, thanks for keeping us updated on random things happening at killington, it's been really helpful this season.

back on thread topic.. a friend of mine was at camelback a few years back and he got caught on an unopened trail and it was either watch a video or lose his day pass but because it was his last run of the day anyway he just left. so it's possible that happened although you hear about it more at smaller family friendly beginner places. it probably depends where he was on the mountain.

exactly but at that point i didnt care. it was too early in the day to lose my ticket over something stupid

true true, that makes sense.

shit, there was an avalanche on Devils Fiddle? Must have been a good snow year, it's never covered. Do you have any more info or news stories on it? It'd been interesting to read.
