Stowe Parks 07/08 relocation

whats up guys, just a lil tid bit of information for all you northern vt jibbers. Stowe's small and large parks, and pipe (thanks to a newley purchased Zaugg pipe cutter), will be located on Spruce Peak this coming season with accessibility from the newest high speed quad. so get pumped for a sick, quick lapable park, on a nice, wide, and well snowmaking trail. more details too come. and don't worry, North slope will be even better and badder, since it was a huge success, than the setup we had last season.

owned.

my school takes a trip down there.. I don't know if it'll be worth the money for the park and what not?

what's it like therew?

fuck my old school didnt even take trips to chicopee, at least now we go to moonstone which still sucks cuz we only ski for like 5 hours.

the only reason north slope was such a success is because it was right after tyro. now everyone is gonna be hangin out at spruce and no one is gonna be over there

get park passes son! we got em at WA they help at least a little i mean every one can buy one for 5 bucks but it keeps alot of tiny kids and thier parents out so im happy with it

i understand everyone's concern, and am personally working on establishing a park pass system to alleviate potential problems that lead to youtube videos of cab 7's to girl tap. newbies in the park aside, having the park on spruce peak will allow quick laps of a park on a much more consistent pitch, and much wider trail than tyro, will allow more features and easier trail maintenance, and lead to a much more consistent and fun park. Stowe is slowly (with my help, the uvm snowboard team, the meatheads, and others) beginning to realize the importance of a legit park and will continue to invest more time and money into providing northern VT with a sick and consistent park. so at least come and check it out this season and let stowe know how much you guys appreciate a good park

potential problems that lead to youtube videos of cab 7's to girl tap. . . . .

I see this being your biggest concern if you ask me.

Who doesn't want all of what you're talking about, pitch, fast chairs, sun...

But Stowe's unique ability to seperate joey from johnny is being wasted in a move like this. Wasted may not be the right word, I just think it's setting yourself up to become a MT. Snow style park, where the kid-bonk is prevelant (I won the spelling bee 6 times! )

All aside, the fact you're pullin moves at Stowe is impressive, as I've found in the past that they are slow to respond to change that doesn't directly affect their bottom line. You've set forth a motion that will hopefully expand their vision, and bring their park scene to a level comparable to the world class tree skiing of Mt. Mansfield.

Nice work.

That second jump in north slope was probably the nicest jump out of all of them. Tyro second was ok and the step down was fun but the last one in North Slope really took the cake in my opinion.

everyone at the park/pipe meeting this past may thought that north slope turned out to be a great park and plans to expand it should turn out pretty sick. There was talk about having a $$money$$ booter at the end of it to rival that of mammoths big booter. Also there may be a judging tower and awards podium to make it a premier contest venue. Lastly there was speculation (don't hold me to this) about widening the park (with fencing to keep joeys out) and making a jump lane and rail lane side by side. whatever happens it will be better than last year and everyone can agree that north slope was the shit last season. and i'll make sure mitch makes it into the park updates again.

looks like that came true kid.

Yeh I am gonna be up there for the next two winters as well. Cannot wait, I hear Stowe has a sick park.

Haha awesome Jeremy. I'll throw down for ya 3 days a week or so. But yeah, Stowe needs to get more creative with rails/boxes. There were two occasions where they put two short boxes together to make one long one. That's cool to do once, but why not make an up gap down or something of the sort. Technical difficulty is much lacking in Stowe's park. I would also like to see rails and jumps mixed sort of like North Slope was. I liked the super long down rail, but the two long flat boxes were boring.

i like the idea of moving the park over there and really building an awesome park but the only thing i can see is a problem is the way spruce peak faces south so that might mean the park might close earlier in the season

just thought i'd mention: season passes to stowe (7 days a week with no blackout dates) will be only $375 through the UVM ski and snowboard club. and even if you don't go to uvm or are not in the club and you can find 3 other people to buy a pass with you it's only 375 as well

i really wish stowe had a burlingotn essex bus. just like smugss did last year my friends and i had no worries about a ride. now we all want to go to stowe but cant drive ourself and not all of our parents ski. it would benefit stowe too - last yr the smuggs bus was full almost every day, there and back.

STOWE: DEFINATELY PLEASE LOOK INTO A STOWE BUS and then you will have over 10+ new season pass holders and a load of happy people.

I heard that they're keeping the park on North slope, so you can still finish off you're mansfield runs with some jumps.

Also, they're setting up a bump course on spruce that they'll keep all season long
