Im pretty sure Stowe has a lease on the mountain. at least i know thats what smuggs does and they kind of share sterling mountain
 
who the hell would want to buy stowe? pay hundreds of millions of dollars to buy an over charging windy mountain full of debts with huge stupid unfinished lodges. AND NO LOCKABLE SKI RACKS! ( sorry I dont like stowe if you havnt noticed) We newschoolers should all buy it together and destroy those big dumb chalets and make rails out some of the scrap wood and sell the rest of it for beer. Then we would keep the prices rediculously high exept for people of newschoolers, have a gnarly cheap pass of shred-dom. I have 200$ that should make me... C.E.O right?
 
ZOMGZ, i've had a great idea.
If we can find 300 newschoolers members, and each puts in $500,000, we could buy it!!!
Or, if each was willing to give $1,000,000, we would only need about 150 members.

 
Didn't the owners of Mammoth (an elderly couple if I remember correctly) sell it for around 300 million dollars?
You can buy a mountain in WNY for 5 million with plans for a golf course... maybe a little cheaper than Stowe.
 
That sucks that Stowe is fs, i enjoyed stowe a lot.

Swain in NY is for sale now too, going for $3 mill flat, all inclusive.

Resorts need to step it up to survive and build bigger terrain parks : )

 
considering they just spent over 200 million on a new spruce peak village, gondola to mansfield, new quad up spruce and an amazing golf course i dont think it would sell for any less than 250 million plus.

stowe is still gonna open next year, still gonna be the same. im sure theyve known this for awhile, but didnt release the info till now. but we will see what happens

I think they have to sell it for cheap, so that they can get out of all of the debpts. the next ones who buy it will also agree to have the debts for those stupid cabins
 
i read something somewhere that its valued about the same at killy which was 85 million...we'll see...
 
Wait- AIG owns Stowe. The government owns AIG. Thus, The government owns Stowe. So theoretically, we all already own Stowe.
 
they should just nuke the whole village and collect the insurance money, luckily some of the shrapnal from thier park will fly over to smuggs and make some cool setups
 
but what about if it is insured by AIG? They would have to claim from themselves, and would have just burnt down a $150m asset. Lose-lose situation
