Story on the Front Page of EXPN... What the Hell?

the thing ive found is that the only skiers that hate snowboarders and and snowboarders that hate skiers are the ones that are really just disappoionted in their lack of skill. I went out one night with my buddy and his friend who lives in whistler, both snowboard. Im standing on the edge of a bridge about to bomb drop it, and I ask his friend to pass me my pole. My friend is Patrick, the other guy is Connor.

Me- man can you pass me my pole?

Connor- Hey Patrick! Hey Patrick! Guess what?

Patrick- What? (Standing at bottom of drop watching me)

Connor- He said he wants me to pass him his pole!

Patrick- and...?

Connor- It's a POLE, which means its related to skiing, which means its related to skiers, which means its GAY!

I also remember standing at the top of a rail on Blackcomb with a bunch of skiers, and a snowboarder cuts us off, turns to us and says "If you wanna ride park, GET A SNOWBOARD!) and quickly 50/50'd the rail. These people think they're gonna impress their snowboarding buddies so they keep doing it, while pissing off everyone else.

as for the article, I thought it was a pretty good article on the reasons skiers go bigger. The never said "Skiers get more air because they are more skilled" they just talked about physical differences that affect speed and air time.
 
they seem to be indirectly saying that skiing is easier than snowboarding. they should also write an article about how skiers have to control four pieces of equipment while doing jumps and jibs, making it much more difficult, while snowboarders only have to control one thing
 
Skiing IS easier.

Atleast spin-wise. It's still pretty damn hard taking of fakie, but once you get it in it feels natural.

Snoboarders always rely on edges, and spinning with both feet strapped down is pretty dang diddely darn hard, if you want to speak flanderish
 
No it's the same for both. It's just a different way of spinning for both sports. Snowboarders can just as easily huck a spin as a skier.
 
for my final project in chemistry this year im studying the design and materials of skis and maybe aerodynamics if he letts me incorporate some physics.

plus, think about the rail learning aspect. it's way easier to get them down on snowboards. all you have to do is ride straight. if you are 50-50 a snowboard it is just like normal riding but on something thin. i dunno how hard it is to boardslide and get tech though
 
bullshit.

Let's compare: both people can create rotation with their arms, but skiers can also use the legs (which they DO) to create more spin. And one one point in that article ESPN is right: the o shit-factor do favors skiers, meaning if you catch an edge in the take off you have an easier time landing on your feet again.
 
Dude you are speculating the whole thing. Talk to a guy who knows how to spin on a board and they'll tell you it's easy. You could also watch a snowboarding movie and actually ride and talk with others who snowboard. Trust me, you are wrong.
 
I think skiers do go bigger

but were not doin back to back 10s on the first two hits

with progressive skeirs like candide, laurent, and hatveit skiers should take the upper hand in pipe amazingness

Yes I can... with a dictionary by my side, but that is aside the point. I've ridden at a mountain where, with the exception of just last year, I was one of only three twin tip skiers. So the only people I rode with were boarders with two of them being very good ones. So yes I comunikate with plenty of them.
