I remember thinking about switching to snowboarding, and begging my dad to buy me a board but he wouldnt do it because he said he wanted me to learn to ski first. Then in 98 i saw the olymics and thought "God damn johny mosley is badass" (in 5th grade lingo) and just wanted to lean how to do stuff like that. i got the first years of 1080 groms and got a computer with internet at my house around the same year. I remember ns from way back, it had ads on get boards or something and i checked it out every once and a while, then i think that was probably like 2002 or 2003 or so that I created a name but forgot the it and its password over summer the next year so i made icerider12 or something like that. Then i didnt know you could just get a mod to change your name so i made alkyy...story of my ns

Anyone else have any good ones?

(i need to find something better to do in the summer ns is half my life right now)
 
way back in 2003 i was racing looked at myself in a Mirror, and said to myself, "What the fuck are you wearing", looking for an obvious radical change I purchased a pair of yellow 1080's, and leanred to slide rails, and get air off everyday mountain objects, in 04/05 i got more into it Discovered NS, and discoverd that "newschool" skiing was my passion, wheater it be in the park or beyond the ropes, I love the people, the rush, and the way our sport looks.
 
in like 05 i was a wannabe racer. i was shown this site by skiray. i found it cool and switched to this style of skiing
 
was just chilling and then got the old grey Atomic Tweaks for free. saw Pimpin' Frogs productions First Strike and was like Holy Damn Eric Hjorleighson is cool. (back when he skied park). and found the site. when it was the NS graffiti for the log in page and no categories for vids or pics or anything. crazy. that was in...2003 i guess
 
ha. ive skied bumps since i was like 10 or 11 so like 01/02. but the last 3 years ive been getting closer and closer to park and pipe and stuff. im quitting bumps this year cause my knees cant take it any longer.
 
I was either a freshman or a sophmore in highschool, and I was on a forum for skiing in nc. Then atlantaski came on there, raised hell, I saw the link on his profile to ns, clicked it, read stuff for a few months, then became a member and started hitting rails and shit.

i saw the xgames on tv and i was like KEWL so i got some used rossignol bandit jr. or some crappy ski like that and i tried a 180 and died so i gave up then i moved to calgary and now i ski good
 
Skied moguls since I was 11 but have also been in touch with the newschool scene the whole time. Saw state of mind the year it came out and have been watching all the new movies as they come out. Competed in moguls up until 2 years ago while still doing a bit of freeride stuff on the side. The past 2 years I have just been skiing, filming, and trying to make 4BI9 as legit as possible.

It's crazy seeing a sport evolve over the years as much as skiing has.
 
Ski Raced from 3rd til 8th grade. i had always loved park and all that. and being good friends with spong he kinda influenced me. 9th grade I quite ski racing and started sliding rails and all that stuff. crazy watching everyone's progression over those years.
 
i joined ns about 4 years ago, under some gay name like killerskier or something like that. then i started really getting into freestyle skiing. i traded in my racing atomics for some mini 1080s, and my freestyle career started from their
 
I was 2 when i started skiing. While skiing i loved going fast through moguls, and i liked skiing powder. But when I was 10, the year 2000. I switched to snowboarding because i wanted to hit jumps and rails and everything else. as a snowboarder i progressed fairley easily, learning 180s and 360s with grabs... i loved hitting jumps, wasnt really a rail fan. then when i was 13 my friend john switched back to skiing because he wanted to ski backcountry and go fast. I tried skiing several times with him and immediately switched back to skiing. I got a pair of Nordica beasts. Then i basically straight aired every jump as a skier for a whole year because i wasnt comfortable with skiing backwards. Then the next year me and my friend had contests to see who could ski the fastest backwards down steep groomers (while avoiding people). That same year i learned to 360, and big 180's. When I was 15 i got addicted to dropping cliffs in backcountry, and I learned who to 5. And this year my friend will (Throw_um_big) showed me NS and i immediately signed up. Will also showed me how to 'pretzel' and thats how i got into skiing rails.

And that is my epic skiing history
 
well it all happened when my parents went on a ski vac ation when i was 3 and took me. so i learned to ski at the age of 3 at steamboat. i occasionally skiied maybe 10-15 times a year up until i was in 6th grade(12 i think) and then i got the blue 1080s and learned 180s and 360s and then in 7th grade i really got into it and started asking my parents to go as much as possible and yeah it just went on from there and i ski as much as i possibly can now. the end
 
oh yeha i forgot the part about ns. well in 6th grade i met some 8th graders skiing and so i skiied with them occasionaly and then gus(akgus) oneday wa slike have u checked out newschoolers.com? of course i said no so when i got home i checked it out and looked at videos and shit and didnt really post and then i found the forum and yeah. her ei am 3 years later
 
once upon a time a young boy named shawn started skiing at the age of 6. the first times he went, he hated it and yelled at his skis but his dad and friends kept persuading him to try, that he did. after a year he was pretty good and mastered the blacks at THE WISP. at the age of 8 his cousin jordan taught him how to parallel ski and it was all great from there. jordan was a very good skier, crazy and pushed shawn because he knew he could be better. jordan got shawn interested in newschool skiing and by the age of 11 they started skiing 7 SPRINGS. jordan progressed a lot because he was 4 years older than shawn, but shawn stayed close. now jordan has moved to arizona for school, shawn is 15 and is ready to show jordan what skiing is all about. i truthfully do not know how, i think i saw a link to it on some ski website back in 05'. didnt really use it then in 06 i just chilled and checked stuff out for half the year, then started posting. got banned, new account, that got banned((damn racism)) now im crookedboner.
 
i found NS on my local mountains forums, and it was like season of 05, and i joined and never posted, just watched videos

i first started skiing park that year, without twins, and i loved it

and then i bought flyers, and now here i am today

Skiied maybe once when I was about 7 in the upper peninsula of michigan on a family trip, thought it was pretty bomb, but soon forgot about it because we never went skiing again because i dont know.. parents are losers and "didn't have time". at around 12, so like 5 years later, i started to snowboard because it was what "all the cool kids were doing". did that til i was like 14. then freshman year in high school rolled around and me and a couple other friends decided to join the school race team as kinda a joke/fun. i was going to still do all snowboarding except for our 1 day a week of practice and 1 day a week race. but that soon changed when i picked up skiing really quickly and was hitting jumps much bigger than i could on a snow board. this is the years of 04-05. and towards the end of that season i saw some kids on twins sliding rails and i fell in love. I bought some blue 1080's and never picked up a snowboard again. now here i am.

and for finding newschoolers... it was in the summer of 05 when i was trying to find out as much as i could on this sport i had fallen in love with. browsing google for "sweet ski videos" and such when I stumbled acrossed it. browsed around for a bit, created an account. then I forgot about the site and forgot my login, and then recently made a new one.
 
I spent most of ninth and tenth grade google searching things like "skiing grind photo," "tanner hall video" and "cool mute grab." Turns out NS just had the best photo selection. And then one day I found the forums (I swear they didn't used to be as obvious as they are now) so I joined.
 
haha sooo true. Everyone says that (older members that is). Thats what happened to me. I used the site for probably like 2-3 months or so and had no clue there were forums.
 
i started skiing in 1993 cause my mom did a lot of skiing and worked at a ski area. in 1997ish i started snowboarding. last season i tryed tele skiing and i loved it. this season i went skiing some but i still mainly snowboarder, next season i might ski again i love doint it all its so fun especiall when you friends see you and they are like what the fuck you can ski?
 
learned how to ski in jackson, then snowboarding became cool and i my parents decided once i could ski any run top to bottom that i could switch to snowboarding, so at 8 i changed to snowboarding, got pretty legit at that then i remember i was at my cousins watching some ski video right before winter of 8th grade and i was like FUCKKK thats shits sick, so for the next 2 winters i skied and boarded, then in sophomore year i switched all the way back to skiing, and now im hear. I remember that sophomore year i was in utah with 15 of my friends for 2 weeks and after a day of filming my friend told me i should put some stuff on NS, never ended up happening, but thats how i found NS, and from then on i was addicted.
 
started at 2, skied a ton. eventually snowboarding started to become very popular, i tried a few times but then skiing got twin tips and I haven't looked back since. I found NS this year... i don't even remember how but since that moment I've been obsessed.
 
when I was like in grade 7 there was this guy in grade 12 that was on the race team with me, and he was all chill and kinda like took me under his wing on the team. He skiied mainkly park and was only on the team so he could ski and one day he was on this site and I was looking over his shoulder and I went on it for a bit, this was like 2002. Then I completely forgot about it until as couple years ago when I browsed around has a guest and then finallt became a member like a year and a bit ago
