It is very sad how hateful and mean a lot of you have gotten over the results of this elecction. I realize you are angry. I would be too. We have talked about politics continuously for many months, and when it got to the point where I thought it would stop, or at least slow down, it just gets worse. I thik blaming Bush for the sickness of an eldery person and saying that someone needs to shoot Bush is totally wrong. Even Kerry said that we need to be united especially after where this election has gone.

By writing these horrible and hateful treads, you are not helping this country, you are destroying it.

Thank you to the person that started the happy thread, newschoolers needs something like that with all the hateful things going on.

When u got owned like democrats did in the overall election last nite and take into account the whiny ass nature of liberals in this campaign you would have expected them all to bitch on NS. ^I love how you say 'owned' when the popular vote was only, what, 3 million off? that's nothing. not that I mind. Kerry would have been nice, but Bush has made the gap between US and Canadian dollar smaller (now it's only around 1.25 USD to 1 CND) and that means cheaper skis for me.

Weak and strong how, exactly? Considering some of the things that go on during these elections, it's become painfully obvious that the electoral process isn't a strong as it could be (of course, there's always that nagging fact whereby it's possible for a candidate to win the presidency with 30% of the popular vote while his opponent has 70%). I mean, how is it that there are actually lawyers looking over peoples' shoulders as they vote, or thugs outside the polling stations intimidating voters? That sort of thing hasn't happened since the 1850s. If we're being honest with ourselves, there are weaknesses in the American political system.

If that's what we were talking about. I can't tell half the time.

 
Hey powder i love the fact that u missed the point i was reffering to the fact that Repubs won the presidency handily, now took a 55 to 44 gap in the senate and improved their lead in the house not to mention they will have an oppurtunity to put in place up to 4 supreme court judges. Anewmorning, look at other countries' elections (Germany, England, Canada) and you'll see that this sort of thing just does not happen, and hasn't in a long time.

I didn't mean so much that these threads are destroying America. I basically meant that there aren't doing anything to help or unite us. I just keep seeing the liberals getting madder and madder, and I think it will get a lot worse. I'm just so tired of all this negativity with Freeze ending and all. This wasn't an antipolitical threads. I like them, but sometimes it can go too far(which it hasn't), I'm just tired out it all after so may months. So, make the political threads if you want, just be a little more positive.

 
if people who have a strong viewpoint that is against the current leadership can destroy a country then that country should be destroyed.
