my computer sucks and the touchpad is really sensitive, so hald the time i mouse over to the scrollbar, it clicks and brings up "the house boardshop" or whatever. it's annoying.
looks like someone needs to brush up on their motor skill and hand-eye coordination ...
might i suggest practicing on something like this ?
On topic: you can also scroll up/down with the arrow keys ....
or invest 10 dollar in a computer mouse with a scroll-wheel ....

You should really chose your words and attitude wisely. Realize your are using a website that does not charge you for membership or accessibility. You should have a little more respect for those who work day in and day out to make NS what is it. So unless you want to start paying out of pocket to use the site, then I suggest you take I_Am_Mods advise and brush up on your motor skills.

Nothing in life is free. It takes money to maintain this site, and believe it or not, the revenue coming in from donators alone is not enough to support bishop and friends.
You should be happy the ads aren't for microwaves and tampons. At least the ads now show people throwing down dubs in the park, ski girls in bikinis, and moar.

Damn everybody needs to calm down in this thread and stop being so defensive of NS. Try to understand what he's saying.
He has a point. I don't think it's the ad itself that is bothering him, so it's pointless for all of you to explain why ads are important. We all know ads are what keep NS going. His point is that some computers have EXTREMELY sensitive trackpads, and so as you move the cursor over to the scroll bar on the right, pressing down slightly too hard as you move the cursor can cause it to 'click' on the ad and take you to that page. It has nothing to do with hand eye coordination. I've had it happen on some computers, it most definitely is annoying as fuck. Instead of not selling the space, maybe NS could make it so that you can click on the ad on the left side of the page, but not on the right side? The ad would still be there, but people couldn't accidentally click on it.

Ever sine the admins have been preaching the benefits of ads, kids are acting like ads can't be bad in any way, even if they hinder the functionality of the site. The whole point of site discussion is to be able to criticize the way NS is put together. In other words, if there's something wrong with the site (even if it only affects a small percentage of people), it's OKAY to criticize it, even if it's about an ad.

i can see how people would have interpreted it if theyve never had this problem, but having had this problem i could definitely sympathize with OP a little. luckily i have a mbp now so its a nonissue for me at this point.

These APO adds are the most obnoxious thing I have seen yet. Really? every fucking page? APO and SAMMY CARLSON just flashing in my face? Shit's annoying.
I'd just like to point out that ads do start good things in the NS culture we have here. Gus and Vitamin Water for instance. Personally, I'd go to great lengths to get the throbbing "APO" and "SAMMY CARLSON" things removed that we have now, just because the thought of Sammy throbbing or jiggling is mentally unsettling.
