Not true. "Global Warming" is kind of a misnomer, it's really called climate change, because although some areas have experienced increased heat, others also get colder. However; it is worth mentioning that the amount of snow does not indicate how hot/cold a place is, it's the average temperature,
year-round, that indicates temperature is on the rise.
Now, it's worth mentioning that this chart shows that even with lowered emissions, we will still experience significant temperature increases over this century, because we
are currently in a natural state of global temperature increase that happens every couple thousand years. It's just that our emissions make it much, much worse.
Additionally, part of the reason that
this season is warmer, to respond to the actual original thread, is because we are currently experiencing an El Niño which causes unusually warm waters in the Pacific (which directly effects weather) on an irregular basis, although they
do usually occur in late December.
