Stolen skis

So yesterday I was skiing at 7 springs and got my skis stolen. I left them outside on a ski rack for like half an hour and came back out and they were gone. I filed a report with the mountain for them, and so far today they haven't turned up. They were 2014 armada pipe cleaners with marker griffons. They were my first and only pair of skis. Right now I'm broke and can't afford a new pair, so my season has probably come to an early end. Has anyone else ever got their skis stolen? And if anyone has an old cheap pair they'd like to sell, please let me know.

Theft at springs had been awful this year. I've had a couple friends get their skis stolen. Look outside the cafeteria on the racks for them. Thats how my friend found his. I'll keep an eye out for them

Vibes man. That sucks. Stealing skis is terrible. I would check local Craigslist, and Ebay as well. They are pretty good about stolen stuff and do not like thieves on their sites. As for another pair cheap, I would check BST, and post in WTB. NS is pretty tight, and has great stuff at good prices.

Good luck, and thieves suck.

I write on all my skis in permanent marker stuff like rip crj and other stuff like that, a huge Wu tang symbol so that if they ever get stolen I can identify them quickly.

But hope you get your skis back man. Stealing shit is wrong

did steve steal your skis??!?!?!

for real tho, vibes man and i'll keep an eye out for them. I'll hit you up if i spot them

Any noticeable stickers or anything specific to your skis that would help someone find them? I'm up at springs everyday that I dont work and I work at willis so if the person is dumb enough to bring them in to the shop Id be able to give you name, address, phone number whatever. But always bring your shit inside with you, fuck bob nutting fuck the donegal people who hate their lives cause they have to work at springs and dont even ride, fuck em all.

No theres not stickers on them, but the bases have quite a few core shots, the skis are size 176 and my bindings are white. Theres only one other person at 7 springs with 2014 pipe cleaners and he has an OG sticker on the tip of one of his skis.

That sucks big time man. I always go throw my sticks back in the car if I know I'm going to be away from them for a while. People are such scumbags these days.

you spent all that money on your skis and couldnt fork over the extra 15 buck for this

FUCK THIEVES. I went to find them all and punt them in the ballsack. I wish ski areas would do stings for this shit. Set some new gear out and tape people attempting to steal it and throw them to the cops.

This shit is ridiculous. Sick of hearing all these stories. Mount snow used to be really bad as well. I've had a board stolen before. That shit sucks. For some kids that can be the end of their season unless they can find someone willing to lend them a pair or sell them some cheap.

Fuck any douche that tries to use their bullshit self entitlement to rob another person of their passion in hopes to turn a profit. Get a fucking job or get fucked.

Why the fuck don't ski areas seem to take this shit seriously? A few signs saying "Lock your shit up, we're not responsible for shit" really isn't solving the problem.

I thought about throwing some gear out with friends at mount snow then waiting for people to try and grab it and fucking them up.

You're a fucked up person if you're stealing from other people. The world doesn't owe you shit, get a job, sell rocks, whatever but stop fucking stealing.

If your friends are stealing shit call them the fuck out. Let them know that shit isn't cool. At the end of the day this is pushing some people out of the sport and making it much harder for some people to pursue their passion. When you're taking away something that bring somebody that much joy, well you deserve to get shit on big time.

PS: FUCK YOU THIEVES

Just curious, am I the only one who doesn't have security cameras at my resort? Haven't had anythjng get stolen cause we're all local and tight but I'm afraid it could.

I've never had my skis stolen, thank god. I'm sorry to hear about yours tho man. That's real fuckin shitty of someone to do.

I went to Breck this year with a bunch of other skiers and I guess what they all do is exchange one ski with someone else's so that you have an unmatched pair of skis. Then you separate them a bit in the racks.(works good when theres a lot of skis) So if someone wants to steal them they have to go around looking for the other ski. It sounds pretty lame but it works pretty well.

If you don't have another pair to get you through the spring, ask around with friends, facebook, wtb on here etc. Mention that somebody stole your skis. I'm sure there would be some interest in selling you a pair at a reasonable price. Nobody wants people to be sitting around off the mountain bummed out and unable to ski. Lots of people have extra sitting around and would rather they go to getting somebody back on the slopes than sitting around.

Best of luck.

Feel for you though. Worst feeling ever when you realize their gone. On another note hope they find the fuck that stole them, get your skis back, and fuck them with the long dick of the law.

Haha that's me

I caught a fucking snowboarder trying to steal my skis at Granite last year. When I yelled, he dropped them and bolted. Saw him get in his car so all I could do was give his license to the police. Never heard back from them.

That shit is so unnecessary. Sorry to hear that OP.

Sucks man, thieves blow. Just a tip for the future. When you are leaving your skis split them. Put one ski on one rack and another ski on a rack way far away (or hide it).

I've done this my whole life and never have problems. Sometimes though I'll come out of the bar too drunk and have a hard time remembering where I left both of them haha.

That sucks man I wish you luck in finding a pair of skis. The only thing I've had stolen at a ski resort is some goldfish and gatorade haha.

I used to steal mad food from the cafeteria haha, but skis? those people should be shot

Kinda unrelated, but i've got a good theft story. Quite a few years back, when I was 16 and working in a rental shop - some dude (who also worked at the resort) came in the shop totally distraught, someone stole 2 snowboards out of his car in the parking lot. He was absolutely fuming with anger (as he should have) and than as fate would have it, guess who walks through the doors? The dude that stole his boards. The guy (who had his boards stolen) went completely ape shit, grabbed a pair of rental skis off the rack and using them like a bat, proceeded to beat the living shit out of the the thief. Karma is a bitch. It was so awesome to watch. About 5 minutes later the rent-a-cop that worked at the mountain halued his beaten ass out of there. Than my boss in the rental shop bought us all pizza and shared it with the dude that had his shit taken. Good times.

Good luck finding your skis OP.

Whenever I go to a bigger mountain I always use a lock if I forget one I'll just buy one. But my local mountain is way to chill. And my skis are too skinny for this area I use most days(troublemakers).

If you're going to buy a lock...don't buy this half-assed piece of crap.

My buddy and I at jay peak went in to lunch at about 12:30. we ate for about 20 minutes and by the time we came back to our skis, some asswipe stole his poles. The poles weren't that expensive or flashy at all. Luckily I had an extra pair in my locker. But at about 4 o'clock we came back down to the lodge and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a pair of poles. The dipshit that stole his poles, later that day gave them back. frickin hate people like that, that think they can do shit like that.

Vibes bro. Got my skis stolen from Sunday river a few years back. Same deal. Left out front, went to go get my stuff came back and they were gone. Worst feeling ever.

I like this. Wish this would happen more.

It's too easy to steal skis/boards. Friend of mine's lock broke. He went to his truck and brought back a hack saw. Sat there and sawed the lock off at the rack on a busy sunday. Nobody ever tried to stop him.

It's such a shitty thing to have to worry about. At one mountain I worked at it was pretty bad. Luckily had a closet outside we used to store stuff in that I could throw my board in to go in the lodge. Other places I'll bring it inside or leave it against the windows.

I felt good reading your story about the thief getting fucked up. Hopefully some more pop up in the thread.

Once again, FUCK YOU THIEVES!!!!!!!!

I've got a pair of dynastar 6th sense spin 179, older but plenty of life left. I couldn't re-mount at center w/ FKS but maybe another binding will work. You can have them if you want to pay shipping. Vibes man I've had plenty of gear stolen over the years

Some places won't let you. I've gone all ben stiller from meet the parents on people before. Like are you going to go outside and sit with my gear to ensure it's safe? No? Then shut the fuck up and let me go spend too much money on a shitty piece of pizza.

I can handle walking through a lodge without hitting anyone with my gear, I'm going to sit someplace where it won't be in the way, an I really like the idea of still having my gear when it's time to go out and ride instead of being like "I just pent too much money on your shitty food and somebody stole my shit so I guess I'll go home and cry".

I very much agree with that second half! But I'll keep a lookout for them too. Do you have any old pictures of them? My friend got his skis stolen last season at springs. It sucks and hopefully you can get them back!

I do have pictures but they wont post for some reason, they're on my instagram. Heres some pictures off google images though if it helps. Bindings are center mounted, one noticeable chip about an inch long in the topsheet on one ski right above the binding. Bases are real beat up

At one point my freind and I were hiking a little jump all by ourselves and my freind set his poles down by the jump because he was gonna try a frontflip and out of nowhere some kid skis up grabs them then skis off so my freind had to chase him down then the kid told him that he thought they were his.

This really sucks.

I will keep an eye out in the shop for you in-case the person is really dumb enough to bring them in. I work at Fox Chapel Ski and Board, I will see if we have something in the back you might be able to rock for the year.
