Ok so some little cocksucker stole my 09 Volkl Gotamas with griffon bindings when I was having lunch and the basin on Friday. Does anyone have any idea how to get them back? Has anyone ever had a pair stolen and gotten them back? Damn this blows.

contact your local police?

put up reward posters no questions asked then beat down the tool that stole your shit (if its a mom and kid they prolly didnt steal them if its some greaser thats your man)

my friend brennen got his skis stolen by some little racer fag named matt stevens and we asked around the next day and somebody told us that there friend matt had gotten a new pair of fujatives last night. So the next day we yelled matt at every kid who had the same skis and we found him and he got kicked off the race team and had to walk down the mountain (crying of course). For your situatuion I would say contact the police in case they show up at pawn shops and spread the word at your mountain. chances are if someone is dumb enough to steal skis they will show up again.

Do you know the serial number - cause that helps.
Call the police and report it, then keep your eyes open, if you see any skis that match that description go up to them and politely compliment them on their skis, ask where they got them, if the stutter or give a sketchy answer you probably got them, but ask if you can take a look at them cause your interested in getting a pair yourself, then once they hand them to you check the serial and then call them out. That's pretty much all you can do.
Call the police first and give them the serial number - then it's not like you just looked and said "oh it matches mine" cause then it's hard to prove, but if the police have the number on file your good - it's not like you can guess it exactly.
Bummer man, I hope you get them back.

keep your eyes on craigslist. chances are some random gape snaged them and will throw them up on there soon, or a consignment store

Ah bummer man. My dad got his stolen at Sunday River some years back and we contacted the theft thing they have there, but we still didn't get the skis back. Hope you have better luck than we did, that sucks I hate thieves.

Contact all of your local shops and tell them to call you if anyone brings in a setup that matched yours. Chances are, if they were stolen, somebody is going to have to remount them at some point. NS will keep their eyes open though! +vibes, Ihope you get your skis back, I hate to hear of shit like this happening. God, I hope its not a NS'er.

very true, plus if you give the serial # to the cops they could forward it to the local shops in your area just in case the person who stole it is dumb enough to bring it in for a sale/trade/tune up etc. Most shops look at the #'s and write them down if they ever do any work on em and will hold them for you/police if they see the same #.

Some dude was walking away with my spirals at Copper my first day up last year, and I cut him off behind this ski shop and just took the skis out of his hands, walked it out like a boss.

Sucks that people do shit like that, but either you'll get them back or karma will run him over in the form of a semi and or stampede of zoo animals.

one of thesse two optionshas be a reality haha. for realy those skis are sweet i hope you can get em back

shit you must have amazing self control. i wouldve killed him for sure. and to the op keep checking craigslist, kijiji and that shit.

Any body want to buy some 09 Volkl Gotamas with griffon bindings. Jokes
That sucks tho, thieves deserve to get fucked by karma. I might go write down my serial numbers and get a lock, just to prevent this. + vibes and i hope you fuck up that cocksucker

get in contact with your mountain security, give them an approximate time, date, and description of your skis and where you put them. mountains have cameras all over the place and securitys normally very good. dont worry youll get your skis back!

Hope you get them back dude. We've had a lot of thefts in the past but now our security system is absurd. Last year security here had like 71% return rate on all the stolen boards. NO ONE steals skis here which is nice.

Check Craigslist and Ebay. Report it to the police and mountain security. Lifties are always checking out peoples skis, so ask them to keep an eye out for them and offer a reward to a liftie that finds them for you. ( like a 30 pack of beer ).
That sucks big time. I don't lock up my skis, but I will separate them when leaving them on the rack.

At Bear Creek in Pennsylvania. Basically a ridiculous amount of cameras, a security staff that is very well trained, and the state police stop in a lot. They have a reserved parking space right up front. Even closer than the handicaps haha.

jus keep in mind how shitty it felt when it happened to you, and don't retalliate by stealing someone elses skis.. +K

Speaking from experience: Working for Public Safety for Vail Resorts and now working at a shop.
Unless you have a serial number and just happen to run into the guy that stole your skis, and are able to check the number, you're pretty much out of luck. You can file a police report with the SN, but they aren't going to pass the information on to any shops around, they have a lot better things to do than search for a pair of skis. I know it's hard to swallow that, but if you think about it, if a pair of skis gets stolen every day, from each resort in Summit County (which is logical), you'd be looking at [at least] four pairs a day. That is a LOT of work for any Police or Sheriff's office to work on considering that it's already close to a lost cause getting gear back.
I'm really bummed to hear about that, whenever I hear that gear has been stolen, I always wish that they culprit breaks his/her legs when they are using them. It's only fair. Besides a lock though (because locking your skis up is smart, but really annoying), I've found that just having stickers on gear is a pretty legit deterrent against theft. People who are taking gear are looking for new, expensive, popular, unmarked equipment that they can get away with easily. If they see it covered in stickers or a unique feature, it's usually left alone.
Look luck to you my man. +vibes, I hope I'm wrong.

dude i just got an 800 dollar hd camera stolen from me tonight at boreal, i left it at the top with the lifty. After checking up on it every run, i guess some shit head snow boarder stole it, there is no hope unless you see them with your skis one day, but even if, its kinda be hard for you to prove they are actualy yours when you confront them. Im sorry

what Malcolm said i definitely would have tackled that guy and been throwing punches and probably hitting him with other misc. ski equipment good job, stay classy my friends
