As a true Dane, I'm seriously stoked about the Frostgun Invitational which, out of the blue, just got promoted to AFP GOLD RANK!! It's being held next week in Val Thorens, the french alps and people are talking about it everywhere in the alps already!
It's a simple big air competition and they just started preparing the kicker.. going to be the biggest kicker ever built in the alps.. even bigger than the kicker which is being built for European Winter X-games this year.Invited riders are amongst others Casabon, PK Hunder, Henrik Harlaut, Jossi Wells, T Wall, Tj Schiller Bobby Brown and so many others pro guys.. But.. are they gonna show up? and is it going to be covered (on NS?)check it out http://invitational.frostgun.com/
enjoy

Bigger than the good ol' Big Bertha? o_O

Anyway, they will have to use all the snow that's left in the Alps to build the kicker. ^^ Italy has just issued a "wildfire-danger" warning due to lack of rain/snowfall in the last weeks. France doesn't look that much different. It's a complete desaster at the moment... :/

yeah i've heard they literally have fields of grass in the middle of the pistes at VT. Theyre gunna have to shovel a shit load of snow infront of bar 360 to build that jump

I hope there is enough snow to build that jump... The alps hadn't been blessed with much snow this year... actually its like the worst season ever.

Well, early season/christmas season was awesome - maybe one of the best in the last 10-20 years. Tons of snow, white christmas even in non-Alp Europe. But since precisely one month, snowfall has stopped. We can just pray for spring season, starting in March.

I was just scoping this event out online a few days ago! Thought about coming out to check it out and cover it for NS, but it's a bit far from where I'm at in Germany. Is it gonna be worth the trip?

Yeah, i'm gonna go ahead and say that it is definitely not the biggest kicker ever built in the Alps. Landing looks a little flat, but they can still change that. With that being said it looks sick, much better than previous years!
To the guy asking if it would be worth it, i would say yes! Best skiers in the world, hitting a nice big jump, combined with blonde danish high school girls getting annihilated, equals a major win situation! And of more importance, it would definitely interest the average NS'er!
