i got in at $288 when i ordered my car. Its nowhere near done. 3k imo by 2025

I was in from the $75-$325ish range, but I just couldn't see any more progress back then. They just never posted profits, I made money but couldn't then and still can't really see this price. Then they made the cyber truck. Fucking seriously? Sold. I think it's got to be a lot like the FANG group vs. the rest of the market these days. Everything else is garbage during COVID so people just pile money into the 5 companies that are going to win no matter what. If Tesla makes a car normal people can afford that'll be the kicker!

All in all, I can't understand the price at all, but if you stayed in you are killing it!

yo dudes, sorry I joined this thread a bit late into the conversation but I’m just starting my way into trading with Robinhood.. any tips on apps, sites to read, best ways to invest smarter? Would love some insight on this

1. Invest early, invest often. Automatically investing into Index/Mutual funds when you get paid means you never feel the pain of moving it out of your account. If you can make $500 a month happen into a Roth IRA, you are on the way to retiring with a 7 figure number in the bank. That's not that much. You can Uber that or pick up side jobs to crush $500 a month if your budget is tight.

2. Invest only money you can afford to lose. If you don't have money you can afford to lose, see item 1 and don't buy stupid things.

3. If you have debt, pay that off first. Investing with debt is a prescription for never accumulating wealth.

4. Robinhood has crazy options where you can essentially invest money you don't have at wild rates. NEVER do this. I don't care if you are Warren Fucking Buffett, investing is a risk/reward decision and when the risk is bankruptcy the answer is no.

5. Time in the market > Timing the market.

6. If your friend doesn't have a net worth that reflects their advice, it's shitty advice. Don't take advice from poor people who read the internet. Take advice from people who started with no money and now have lots of money.

7. If you read this stock is a great pick on the internet, there are probably just as many articles about how it's a shitty stock. Media is out to make money too, and they want you to click on articles about politics, money, and ducks that can surf. That means there is an article to enforce your previously formulated opinion times 1000 about basically anything. Don't invest in internet opinions, invest in what you see with your own two eyes. Example: If you think DVD's are stupid and you don't know anyone who isn't selling their Blue Ray player, it's probably reasonable to assume Netflix sales will increase.

The easiest way to do all this is to buy an S&P 500 Index Fund with someone like Vanguard and automatically invest each month. Everyone on Earth will tell you about the one stock they made bank on, but only rich people will share the stocks they got hosed on. S&P 500 Indexes are easy, cheap, diversified, and include most of the best companies in the world. You can expect an average of 7-8% a year after taxes, which doesn't sound like much but looks like this in the end:

St8Chedda is 25 with $1000 and starts investing $500 a month:

Year 0 (Age 25): $1000

Age 30: $36,700

Age 50: $445,000

Age 65: $1,576,000

This is a baseline starting point because it's very easy, attainable in the US for anyone in the middle class, and time honored. If your income goes up and you invest more, those numbers skyrocket. If you have the time and spunk to learn more ways to invest and create money (guess what, they all involve work and/or risk, almost no one gets lucky statistically), then you can venture into rental property, creating businesses, and even single stocks.

my man! Thank you for the knowledge, definitely a lot to learn but I’m excited to start. I’ll def check out a lot more before really getting invested into it. One last question for you, where do you get your information or read most of this on? I’m working a typical 7-3 job and don’t have all the time in the world to sit down and read about the market but would like to find a source to read decently reliable information.

Another word of advice don’t take advice from the Reddit penny stocks thread. Some are good but most of the time it’s some guy picking a penny stock and going with it. Plus Reddit controls like a 1/3rd of the market with people buying massive amounts then dumping. Look at IDEX and GNUS. Not gunna like though I make 300% on idex.

Honestly never been on reddit or looked at it. Is it worth making an account to get insight on anything like stocks, even skiing content I guess?

There’s definitely good content on Reddit just not skiing wise. Do your own research on stocks before buying into them because someone on Reddit said to.

25k min to day trade

You can still daytrade with under that (many ppl do) but you lose ur ability to write off market losses on your tax returns. Basically In this case the government is trying to be a pile of feces molded into a perfect sphere. The sphere of feces is “perfect” according to government agents associated with the sphere. And any trash talking about the sphere of feces will get you audited.

This isnt true. You can write off losses if your account is under 25k. You just have to abide by pattern day trader laws. Meaning, you get 3 trades per week (rolling week) if you use a margin account. Or, if you use a cash account, you get unlimited but you have to wait for trades to "settle" before that cash is available again.

$3,000 why though? That would give them a market cap of more than $500 billion. In comparison, Ford's market cap is $27.5 billion, and Walmart's market cap is $366 billion

Went in on Apple the other day after days of debating whether or not to and have not regretted it. Especially with the split coming up at the end of August. It’s creating the perfect storm to push it back up a few months after the split. New iPhones drop in October/November and the new in house chips for Macs start next year. Hopefully will see some big profits in the next year.

Thoughts on the effects of Trumps executive orders he signed over the weekend will have on the market? Should boost it pretty big and mortgage rates have dropped big time.

They took a massive hit when Apple announced that they were making their own chips now.

And they are a full generation behind AMD due to delays. But you can almost guarantee that they’ll be back. Intel is a multi-billion dollar corporation and they’re still the most dominant semiconductor manufacturer. AMD is years, possibly decades from overtaking Intel.

That is not true. It is only for margin accounts and its a rolling week. If you say per week, that can be confusing.

But, if you trade on a cash account, meaning your funds need to settle after closing a trade, you can trade as many times as you would like, as long as you have enough settled funds available. It usually takes like 2-3 to settle a trade, so your money is tied up during that time instead of a margin account which the broker "loans" you money while your trades settle. Google it my man. Its what I used before I got over 25k

Nvda and amd are unreal. Feeling way too greedy and exuberant which aren't good things...

NVDA just dropped their new GPU's this morning. Stock price shot up. Tesla is having their first down day in along time. Apple has been crushing it since the split.

TSLA is just correcting back to its daily upward trend area. Im curious to see if it will test 500 again in the coming days, if so, it may be off to the races again.

Big announcement coming from them on the 22nd. It is most likely the million mile battery if it is I’d say I’ll push over 550.
