STL's Need Wide Breaks?

I just took my new STLs to get mounted with look P10s and the shop told me I'd need wide breaks. Just wondering if they really do or is my shop just stupid? I didn't think the waist was big enough to worry bout wide breaks.

Yeah i went in to get my AR5's mounted today, and the shop technician was like 'sorry, the brakes wont fit. Wide brakes are $50, you need them'. I told him to just bend them, and he refused. So I went in his shop, stuck them in the vice, and bent them myself. Then he mounted them. I think the STL's are the same width, so just put the brakes in the vice and reef on them until they're wide enough, and tell the shop tech to go f*ck himself for trying to rip you off - the brakes only need to be bent a TINY bit anyway

 
^ That's so true, although the one guy there seems like he has some clue because I went in asking about 4-Frnts and he was telling me he could get them or Armadas. Then I come home today and see the message that I'd need widebreaks, and I thought what the hell? I think they're pissed because I went in an asked them to get in touch with Armada, and I waited like 3 weeks and nobody called me back, so I changed my mind and just ordered from D-Structure.

Sshould I just call and tell them to forget ordering the wide breaks and just bend them a little? Or should I just get my shit back and take it someplace else?

whats with all the bitching just pay the ten bucks i paid... big fucking deal you spend 500 on the skis and you can't whip out 10 bucks

 
^ Ya, they want me to pay another 40 in addition to the 30 it costs to mount. I just don't want to pay the money if I don't have to. Seeing as ^^ you don't think 40 bucks is any big deal, you can just mail me the money, I'll give you my address.

who ever said that the shop wouldnt bend you brakes and you had to do it. THey wouldnt because if they broke them then they would have to replace them, if you broke them then you would be shit out of luck also it weakens the breaks so it they do break off and you get hurt then you could sue them.

shit out of luch they he would just spend the fuckin money atleast he was giving it a cance and who the fuck cares if it weakens them a bit they get weaker and stranger in cold and in warmth .. not a big deal .. i bent the hell out of my breaks and they work just fine .. just bend them at home then bring them in and tell them to mount them .. they wont notice the difrence and if they do go to a difrent shop.

wide breaks would probably be to wide...I have wide breaks on skis w/97 waist and they wit well, but there room on each side. I imagin that having that wide break would cause problems in the long run.
