im trying to decide on what park ski to get im like 5 10 140 and want a soft ski that still has plenty of pop and durability it needs to easily last a whole season of park skiing without breaking or losing pop

i also want something as light as possible!

any ideas?

get the stl.. out of the skis u listed the stl is the best most surable park ski, and your supporting the good guys at 4frnt...

mick's ski isnt even made yet man...he hasnt tested it or anything....

why the hell do people still make the ski #1vs ski #2 vs ski number #3 vs ski #4 etc.....ask how a single ski performs or try to demo something. Most people on this site havent riding all the skis you are talking about and they will just back up the one they have and if they dont own any of them they will back up the "coolest" one.

yeah, mikael pros aren't even made yet. you'll have to wait a while to know anything about them. yeah, if I only used demos to find out what skis i wanted, then I could only get 1080s

yeah, i loved my stls, but they suck on landing bigger jumps, and they slapped all over the place. sweet skis, but just a little too soft for anything but skiing switch, butters/ollies, and jibbing. they sucked for just skiing skiing too.

oh yeah, the laroses are slightly stiffer TMs, so i can comment on those too. they are great skis, but they have a ton of problems. if they ever step up and fix the problems with them, they would be the best ski out there, they are super poppy off jumps, and the sidecut is dialled. they ski very, very well, and had no problems what so ever at speeds in excess of 60 mph. but, they are a heavy, and the horizontally laminated core losses its snappeness quickly. i never had issues, (all i did was rails) but alot of people had issues with crappy edges. im also lookin at the mickael pro next year, but id like it around 182 or so. but... with a bamboo construction, it should be sick. bamboo is one of the strongest natural materials on earth, and it is super resiliant,an super snappy (ultra long grains, or fibers). with that knowledge, i would expect it to be a pretty medium flex ski, that skied very well, and could ollie over a house.

last years STLs fell apart on me, 1 cracked edge, delam, and one of the letters fell out of the base.

for your size and weight i would seriously look into the Mickeal Pro model when it comes out, its 176 and its got everything your looking for.

The new bamboo/poplar core will be amazing for pop, and it will be so durable. Bamboo is a really good material for durability. Some timber bamboos have better tensile strengths than iron or steel on a strength per weight basis. Poplar is a very lightweight material also, and you said you wanted a lightweight ski.

Its got a carbon runner on the top and the bottom that improves the skis flex and keeps the pop strong for longer. So you wont have a problem lasting a whole season on them.

Mike Nicks 176- Sick!!! A little softer flex than the chronics, but wider underfoot. These are still stiff enough to handle big hits and pipe, but are easier to butter with than the chronics. They can also be found cheap for last years model. Also, durable as hell!!!

177 stls? ebay. just keep an eye out. or just wait and get 06s. mine held up pretty damn well. the edges had two craks, but almost 90% of my skiing is rails. and nothing actually fell out, just cracks. they held up to numerous urban sessions, and they took a pretty hard beating. the one tail has lost camber from manuals and butters, but it really doesnt make too big a difference in skiing.

yeah prices aren't totaly final, and you won't pay MSRP. i know for a fact that jibij doesn't sell a single pair at msrp.
