Still confused on how to review

Seriously, what the fuck do the little bars mean?

Forgive me, but as someone moderately new to NS, I've dedicated a lot of time to figuring out the review system (aka how do the blue and orange bars work) and usually find that people use them differently. I was hoping someone could clarify...

For example, if I have skis that I'm rating that are super rockered, how do I configure the bar? (camber is on the right and rockered is on the left)

I've very confused. And new. But mostly confused.

The review bars are more complicated than spaceship controls.

Basically, the line when the blue and orange meet is the point of interest. If the point of contact in between orange and blue is closer to the park than the pow side, its a park ski.

Helpful?

Mistakes were made in the final stages of polishing this thing. I will admit that.

However you nailed it Bait - the intersection point is the "rating" the ski gets. Each color represents its performance in the range.

What we tried to do with this thing was to give a sense of allowing data quantification of the more etherial elements in a ski.... one that is usually reserved for words in a review... but those aren't very searchable.

So we tried to get the data out of the masses with the idea of scoring a ski between to ideas. Park-Pow, rocker-camber, etc... and make that data really easy to enter for anyone. In aggregate, you'd get a pretty good picture of a ski and when matched with one of our featured professional reviews... you have a wicked idea of how that thing is going to work.

So the review system is actually kickass, but we hired an outside developer to finish up the last few user interface elements... and that turned out to be an enormous mistake. That developer never will work with us again.

Here's a question: If you now understand the bars, does it make more sense?

Got it, makes sense... I really messed up a review a few months back. Is there a way to remove/ edit it?

If you go into your profile, and select "Reviews" you can see everything you have reviewed. If you select an item you've already reviewed and click "Write Review" it will allow you to change your review which will update it.

As mentioned, mistakes were made on the user interface. It works great if you can figure out how the fuck to use it. :)

its actually a huge gem on NS that just needs a bit of love to make it really hammer.
