Still camera for skiing

What would people recomend for a still camera for skiing?

Preferably 10+ mp's but will go down to 8.

beginnerish with cameras so i dont need all the best features, but multiple still ?tiime lapse? would be good

Price range is under 700

nikon d40 is perfect for you...you can find the body pretty cheap, but you should spend the extra cash on good lenses and an extra big battery as well as a warranty...

canon 30d, it's 8.2 mp and shoots at 5 fps so you can get good sequences, but it's not a beginner camera

not a begginner camera, but if you have the money, then definitely worth it.

i would say a cannon Rebel series.

at least the XT, but ideally the XTi. the frame goes for around $350-400, and you can spend the rest of the money on glass. I would reccomend a 28-75mm tamrac lens.... not too expensive, and definitely put out good shots.
