Stiff skis or Soft skis??

ive ridden all sorts of skis, from the original STLs (by far the softest ski ever made) to PEs and karmas, or even something like a 6star. each extreme has SOME benifits, but LOTS of drawbacks.

soft skis are incredibly fun to jib with, and for tricking aound on flat groomers. however, try to ski anything, or hit jumps, its terrifying, and they dont have any pop. with reallly stiff skis, its the exact opposite, you can ski the shit out of them, but they are borring unless your ripping.

a nice midflex is, in my mind, the best flex to have. they can still ski pretty damn good, but you can still easily butter them around. ive been on silencers this year, and at first, theyve pretty stiff, but as i broke them in, they were perfect. still stable and skiable, but i could still crank out big butters, AND theyd explode out of them with tons of pop. a nice, midflex ski with alot of rebound and life, is, in my opinion the single best type of ski.

Also, i ride PE's and they are super stiff and seem heavy as hell.I dunno if stiff skis are heavier, but PE's are.

Soft skis for when Im fucking around on rollers, rails, and little jumps.

but for shooting big tables and charging, stiff all the way! I absolutely hate soft skis on big jumps. They have no stability.

and I am not a big fan of rails, so Im going to have to go with STIFF for my final answer.

Super stiff Prophet 100's for the Big mountain, Super soft Foils for the park. Can't go wrong.

the ar6s are a little towards the softer side, but are not suuuuuper soft. its really stiff underfoot and soft on the tip, moreso than the tail. since its stiff underfoot its stable at hella high speeds.

Soft skis are so uch more fun in the park, an since my hill really doesnt have any big lines i think i will stick wth them untill i move to utah

ive riddin stls the past 2 years and there wicked fun cuz they have like no stiffness what so ever but i prefer a stiffer ski in deeper fluff

hmmm, are the rossi scratches really softer towards the tips?

i love a soft ski for pow, i have the ak enemy's and they're a beaut, but for cahgin', id like a stiffer ski. and for park a soft ski.
