Stevens Wishlist

Hey yall some stuff to think about this summer....

1. top ten rails and boxes you want me to build

2.what you want in the park next year

3.what events you would like to see.

Keep it serious and keep it TOP PHLIGHT

1. top ten rails and boxes you want me to build

2.what you want in the park next year

3.what events you would like to see.

Top 10 Rails:

1. More long rails with variety. flat down, Down flat down, Etc.

2. More features where there isn't anything.

3. More slopestyles and bring back the friday night rail jams. Also for the rail jams have rails not a shit load of boxes and have them be rails that you can actually do lots of variety of stuff on

1. top ten rails and boxes you want me to build: an elbowing down flat down

2.what you want in the park next year: your park is pretty sick i wouldnt change much

3.what events you would like to see: keep making hoedown trowdown even more sick. maybe have 1 or 2 more rail jams

1. top ten rails and boxes you want me to build

10. a big rainbow box. like 30ft long. those are fun.

9. another of those long smooth boxes or a rails. (30+ ft)

8. make the flat down box and trap box longer.

7. 30ft bilboard style rail, like a regular rail, except its 6ft off the ground instead of 2-3. bar style rail.

6. flat down box thats narrower (6in wide) 10ft flat, 20ft down.

5. a designated flat down rail, 8ft flat, 15-20ft down. bar style rail.

4. a narrower (6in wide) 20ft long box. 2-3 feet high.

3. 20-30ft single barrel down rail.

2. another one of #4.

1. A wall ride, not necessarily giant size like mammoths, but like 6-10ft out of the snow.

2.what you want in the park next year

A quarter pipe at the bottom of the park or the big jump. at least one of the two.

The wall ride.

A cannon box all year long.

Make the left side of the park (beginner) not require a park pass. This would help free up the pro-line, and make it so I don't have to sneak through on my way to park cliff.

The wall ride that was mentioned earlier.

Free Hot coffee and donuts in the park yurt or hut or whatever it is at the top of the park in the mornings (jokes, but it would be pretty awesome if it did happen.)

That thing you built for Sammy Carlson and TGR, the hanging barrel bonk. (ya I know its probably not gonna happen but it would be sicktacular).

A box on a raised platform, step up to box, then a big drop at the end (like the one at the rail jam).

3.what events you would like to see.

As said earlier, rail jams every week or two would be cool. Not big comps, no cash, but just sort of a fun event for people to come out and session some rails and have fun, maybe small prizes for people who do cool things, $5 entry.

A spring park jam w/ bbq (in the park). Just another event with the main goal being fun.

Some bigger comps that might attract people from further away would help stevens pass out in terms of publicity.

I have never skied there but am getting a pass next year because I am going to school in Seattle.

1. top ten rails and boxes you want me to buildBig rainbow sounds fun. I dont really like big gaps between rails, but whatever. Maybe some cannon like box or some boxes/rails that are pretty high up. Like a hip type thing where there is a box/rail on top you can slide to. (imagine the beginning of a half pipe with a rail on top and shaped more like a hi)
2.what you want in the park next yearWell built wall ride. Some bonks, stalls.
3.what events you would like to see.X games, dew tour. haha, I dont know. Some fun stuff like thishttp://www.vimeo.com/4417815.

my wishlist is to be able to get up there a few times... my school is like the only fucking school who goes to snoqualmie. god.

I'd love that^

Park updates:a 6'-10' wall ride
a QP
a canon box like you had (two?) years ago
big 6" wide rainbow box would be sick (20ft-ish)
put the money kicker back in at the bottom!!!
and a step-up w/ a trench of death leading to the top of the pro jump line to keep gapers off the waterfall

DON'T make the waterfall the same as it was at the end of the season, but put a jump like that at the end of the Right line at the top of the park. I like the waterfall big and scary...

none of the barel bonk bullshit, no mini pipe replace it with some rails/ boxes. the water fall jump line was perfect at the end of the year.

the bonks were sweet, but one is plenty... and no mini pipe is needed, no no ever really used it anyways. and I fully disagree with you on the waterfall

well thats just comeing from me, it was my first year at park and i only did park for half a season and, the waterfall line was realy nice for trying and learning new tricks, its where i did my first 9.

I have never skied here so I do not know. but a lot of resorts that I have been to have rails, boxes etc. just lying around which they could set up.
If you have stuff lying around set it up somewhere if you can, Make a more beginner lane or a more advanced lane.

hahah, clearly you havent been there, that basicaly what it is with a intermediate in the mid.

i liked the waterfall at the end of the season, it was fun to throw off of!

An up box or bar style rail with a hip style landing ( doesnt have to be as steep, just angled)

angled jumps

rhythm section

just a bunch of crazy transitions that you can get creative on, I love being able to not only go straight through the air, but drift from side to side and land on different edges. I don't know if there are many people like me in that sense so it may not be reasonable, but that kinda shit would be all over my dream park.

A really good hip or spine would be sweet, I really liked the one that had the propane tank on it halfway through the season, lotsa fun.

scrape the mini-pipe and replace it with rails or jibs.

i'd love to see taller barrel jibs and a tree jib if possible.

cannon box

I'm just gonna go with a list of likes and dislikes and ideas.
Liked the eyeball jump at the end of the middle lineLiked the trench jump at the end of the right side line but not at waterfallLike the idea of a spring BBQ. Emphasis: FunLike the idea of a wallrideLiked all the boobs at the bottom of the park. Any more than and handful's a waste!Like the idea of a QP at the bottom Liked the money booter at the bottom (2yrs ago)Liked the propane tank bonk thing at the top of the park
Disliked the amount of space taken up by the mini pipe, could be used better.Disliked it when the rollers (which were awesome for like a week) shrankDisliked the lack of money booterDisliked the fact that I couldn't keep speed through the right line at the top (maybe thats just me)Disliked the pipe. Get rid of that shit and use the space!!!!Disliked the unused space between the waterfall line and the right line (excluding the hip, that was good)
Ideas: Get an old-car-bonk. That could be fun. Get rid of the pipe and use all that space for some other stuff. Like a wall ride, and a down-flat-down, and some more boob jumps, and a QP.A Steven's Pass bird shaped jib. What's that you ask? It's a jib shaped like the Steven's Pass bird. How Does it work? I don't know but I'm sure you'll figure it out.A team park competition. Teams of around 4-6 do what they can to earn points at different events in the park. Maybe it could be some sort of benefit. (Alpine initiatives, The Environment, Wealthy CEO's)That's all I got for now.

I think you should get rid of the mini pipe, and some of the bonks. You could put two lines of rails, boxes and other jibs in there, one line for beginners and another for people who actually know what they are doing. The rollers and jumps bellow that are pretty fun though, and you could make them into 3 or 4 small-medium sized jumps to make them a little more interesting. I think those jumps would really compliment the way the beginner side drains into that section of the hill.

Then again, I'm a noob so you probably shouldn't listen to me.

I was a noob around 9 years ago.. then i got a job at a ski resort and 10 years later im somebody and i like to be able to listed to the noobs now and again...

These are all really good ideas and i will try and work most of them into the park this upcoming season. I have a plan to build tons of new stuff and get creative with the terrain and snow features. im also hopefully going to set a PARK EVENT that runs a few months that involves different features and abillitys. not every body likes just rail jams and jumps. any ideas on creative events in the park are welcome too.

Thanks again for the info guys. This is a big help to figure out what the people that use the park other then to get to their car or cabin want.

TPC

BIG SHIT.

no offense, brian needs to get out.

he makes all the jumps smaller, B rad actually makes the park good. and has good ideas,

brian just makes pussy jumps. im pretty sure half of park crew wanted to quit because of brian too.

It would be really fun to watch a slope-style contest with a really creative course with a lot of different options. Not just rail rail jump jump rail jump or whatever. It would be great to see what people come up with, like different ways to use the course.

i loved waterfall at the end of the season,

but make it bigger and more of a lip on it.

even though the cannon was fairly big for hoedown make it bigger on proline

the big tap like on the last day

listen to daniel and put rails on the sides of the minipipe if we even keep that

wall ride

street style gaps

stair set like at bear

an earlier season booter comp when we have pow for kids to break them selves

naturual jibs

for real though....

Big jumps...this year was a little on the weak side. The third in the

pro line (Junks?) was good for the comp but the other two (especially

waterfall) were a little weak. I don't think Pro-line is the best place for jumps for people to be learning tricks on...Thats what the top section is for. Speaking of the top section...I think that maybe 4 (5?) jumps are too many up there. If its possible make less that are bigger. I dont know if this causes the same speed issues though or what.

Different rails are really needed. Snoqualmie has good rails but they

suck at maintaining there park. If stevens had good rails it would

beat snoqualmie easy. I like billy's idea for narrow boxes...they are

kinda fun. You should make real rails though and longer than 10 ft long. A DFD would be awesome. Especially if it was long. You should make two infact...One rail and one 6inch box.

The cannon box was sweet.

There were several rails/boxes that just sat down at the bottom of the pipe unused...I think they were broken? Fix them!

Bring back showtime...

Events-wise you should do more informal comps...like the big air two seasons ago... that was fun. And slopestyles that dont cost $60 to enter. I'm poor. You dont have to have as big of prizes...comps are fun even if there aren't huge prizes.

Thats all I can think of for now. Steven's park is fun. But it definitely has potential to be way better.

A couple year ago there used to be a couple decent sized tables straight down the middle of the upper park. Then it went on to the channel gap and a step-up I think.
