i dont no how i shod start this out but w/e first off the dude whos in charge is like we want this to be a locals only team meing he wanted the hardcore local kids i saw all these like out of towner dudes who like hav nvr even skied stevens/ so tht dispies the hole purpose of the locals only/ and i havnt even seen any riders in the prk or anyhting/ second my homie bryon and demitri wer mobbin and demitris thron d spins/ bryons thorin switch 5's hella smoove and switch 270 onto the kink/ ther 17 and the rest of the crew guys who made it r like 20+/ im not doggn on any of the guys who made it/ demitri and bryon and i wer thron just as big of tricks as the riders and hittn the rales and evrything just as good or better/ then the guy who runs the team told all 3 of us we didnt make it/ he new he coodnt tell us we didnt make it becuz of r skillz/ he new r skillz wer just as good or better/ so he coodnt say ur not on the team becuz u suk/ so he told us we didnt make it becuz we wernt known and we wernt in like magazines and we wernt famous/ ther is this develompent team for the 'up and comers' meaning thats for the riders who r up and coming meaning thats how yor suppose to get known// how am i suppose to get known if im not on the up and cmoing team/ i mean thats wat that teams for the unknown guys who r going to get known so i didnt think i had to be famous and in mags just so i kan be on a B team thats suppose to get me famous/ also it seemed like he had all redy pre picked the rideers be4 it even started/ im not doggn on any of the riders nor am i mad at any of them i just didnt think it was a very fare try out i mean wen my boys demitri and bryon r 17 and r hukn same tricks as the 20 plus yer olds they shood be on the team the dude was sayn how he didnt pik us becuz he didnt no us so it seemed like he picked those dudes becuz he new them///// but w/e

Ok so for those of you who were actually there and were possibly listening to what I was sayin in the morning meeting we were not looking for people who could just huck. I said that morning and I will say it again 'this team is a marketing tool' and if any of you think that any other resorts' freeride team is anything different you are dead wrong. As far as who we chose and who we didn't choose that was a very tough decision, and it did come down to who was going to offer Stevens Pass the most. Whether you guys know it or not this is a two way street and we were looking for people who will give Stevens Pass the most exposure. No doubt about it you were all killin it on Monday and even if you weren't chosen we were super impressed! How you present yourself is as important as how you land your tricks, you may look good in the air but if you land on your head everytime nobody is going to notice. Ben is a great example. I have seen him in the park everyday that I have been there and he is one of the best riders in there...but (and Ben we mean this in the best possible way) his nickname after Monday became Kenny. If you know Ben you know why. For what you can do to get exposure that is up to you. All of the riders on the team got exposure before making it on the team and so can you. All you have to do is work at it. For all of you who tried out our hats are off we were truly impressed, if you didn't try out please don't respond because this is not about you. Last but not least remember that Respect gets Respect so don't waste your time dissin on others when it would do more to see the positive side of the experience and learn from it. And I think you all know me and I am more than willing to help any of you if you want it, all you have to do is ask.

i wasnt trying out, i just saw you skiing, noticed the mad trixx and the poor attitude, figured it was you.

and i totally disagree about ben, he's one of the styliest mothafuckas in the state, if he was crashing alot he was probably having a bad day, like i was, that combined with the fact the jumps were fucking weird and they were the first jumps a lot of us had hit since july.

Man all I gotta say is fuck PDubya. I have seen people contribute more to stevens pass than you have ever. You said that you wanted people that would contribute to stevens pass? A team isnt anything that is contribution through tricks, if it was like that then any pro could of tried out for the team and not give a shit about stevens pass. I think that some of the people that you cut would of contributed more than someone from another locality. So basically I just think your a piece of shit, thats all I am saying. I had nothing to do with trying out for the team, I just have heard shit and dont stand for any of that. thats weak

This is for everyone so listen up. I'm Tyler Forman; the 1st one who was put on the Stevens Freeride Team....and the only reason I got on is because I proved myself and was persistent. I sent Stevens a proposal at the beginning of last season. They told me that they couldn't doing anything for me but I should contact them later in the year regarding the 2002-2003 season. I started skiing up there more, kept talking to people at the ski area, and then I won two of their events. Shortly thereafter I was offered a contract. At this time Stevens was developing a good idea of the benefits and problems of being involved in freeride. They got to see firsthand what kind of people were at their events and had had a chance to gain experience in dealing with athletes. Sponosring me was a decision that they had a lot of time to think about. That wasn't the case with tryouts. I have had extensive conversations with Stevens about events, teams, etc. And belive me, there have been plenty of things that I have questioned, disagreed with, and voiced my concerns about. There are so many factors in developing a team that most of you are not aware of. I grew up at a ski area, worked at a ski area, have run a team, put on events, been a coach & competitor, attempted to start a freeride camp & competition series, and have recently started a production company with some friends. I have seen the ski industry from angles that many of you never will. Stevens is doing as much as they can as fast as they can and as well as they can. Sure...I think that Stevens needs snowmaking so they can get their pipe going early, I'm not very happy that I wasn't able to train Skier-X before the X-Qualifiers and the Ultracross because the course wasn't up, and I even think that the superpipe & the park need to be moved. But there are other factors that you and I aren't aware of that the ski area has to deal with. I've talked to the park crew and they are the first people to admit the weaknesses of the park and things that could be changed. But they know that things don't happen overnight so they're doing what they can, when they can. There are people I know that were at tryouts and weren't picked....and I would not have picked some of them for the same reasons Stevens didn't pick them. As for Ben...I think he would have been a great asset to the team and I even recommended him when asked about it. But I don't know the whole story cuz I wasn't at tryouts and I get to see Ben in places and aspects of skiing/life that the people at Stevens don't. They don't have access to the same experience I do. They had to go off of what they saw in one day. Those decisions are never easy and all of us will make at least one decision in our lives that will create the same rections that we've seen here. And you'll have your reasons for that decision, same as Stevens has their reasons for picking the people they picked. Remember, the people running the team have to answer to someone higher in the company than them. They have a budget they have to work with. They have a responsiblity to do what's best for the ski area with what they have to work with. And if that means not picking the dopest rider because he/she has a bad attitude, is a total pain in the ass, has caused previous problems at the ski area, etc....then that's what will happen. So with that...have a little understanding and I'll see you guys on the hill.

They can only do so much. They can't afford to build a gigantic team. I think the idea behind the B Team was to help some up and comers or people who didn't have the resume or reputation of some of the others. Up until they made the picks, I didn't even know there was gonna be a B Team. I thought they were just gonna build a team of about 5 people. I can understand some people being bummed out and all but I've heard a lot of excessive hate. They didn't just pick people they knew because they like them better. If knowing someone helped that person get on, it was because Stevens had a very good idea of how that person would act as a representative of Stevens Pass. And believe me, that's a big part of being on a team.
