Stevens Pass 2010-2011

in a way though it depends, because i know myself and lots of people would get it, but cant pay for day tickets. im sure theres plenty of people out there in the same boat

I imagine they have some pretty good data on how many times the spring pass holders came up. If they averaged say 4 trips up between march 1st and april 17th they would surely get rid of the $99 pass~

Yea that is what I figure. Utilizing RFID probably made it very easy to see what kind of use those passes were getting. Still more than 45 days left. A $100 spring pass is worth less than 2 full day tickets...

Bless you David.

feet with loft mmmmmmm

Kids asking about speed:

Look at the forecasts. The telemetry data that the NWAC provides is excellent for just general info, but it will be extremely helpful for waxing.

You don't need any of the fancy/expensive HF wax shit to make a difference. A block of a generic "warm" and "cold" wax is better than nothing, but it is nice to get more specific temp range if need be. Using foretasted temps, you can wax accordingly. A good waxing job is a fantastic start. I would wager that very few people wax their skis prior to skiing park.

Also, don't kill your speed. It sounds obvious, but I have seen some retarded uses of speed in the park. Usually, somebody (typically a boarder or something) will bomb through the top drop-in area of waterfall. People standing will be like "oh shit so much speed." Of course 99% of the time, the person either does some hasty speed checks right before the lip or absorbs the lip all together, like absorbing the bounce on a trampoline. Doing one, or the other, or both, will kill your speed and loft potential.

Skate if need be. Pump if need be. Sit on your tails if need be. If absolutely necessary get somebody ahead to call a drop and roll in. There are many ways to create and maintain speed, just don't do speed checks. I think most people get nervous about the speed they have and scrub a little bit of it.

Utilize the lip and pop.

Oh, and doing huge carves in to jumps kills your speed. Hitting the deck aint steezy.

Jumps right now are pretty small, but I usually wax my skis every other time i go up, and when im rolling into the waterfall I skate, sit on my tails and POP, its pretty frusturateing to still nuckle , sometimes it even hurts the family jewls a bit. Haveing the waterfall a little bigger than it is right now would be prime, any bigger and I dont know if i can get speed for it, also having it that size would be good to practice some new stuff on.

Also since Grant seems to have forgotten.

PSA: building a jump on that little hump by the start of the cat track in grace lakes is fucking retarded. It's like 10ft that you can't get speed for. I have seen little retards out there building it twice, you spend 2-3 hours building something that is fucking retarded.

[stop being retarded]

Here's my take:

We strive to make and maintain a park for everyone. The other day, I tallied up each feature in the park, and categorized them as either beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Beginner and advanced had the same number of features, and intermediate had two more than those categories. To me, this says that we've managed to achieve balance without consciously trying for it.

And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. That includes the people looking to train for X-Games, Dew Tour, Jib Academy, or just to hit some large jumps (my category). It's called Pro Line for a reason. And we'll do what we can to push up and steepen the drop in deck going into Waterfall, but the reality is that some of you won't be able to clear them all every day. Which isn't ideal, but it we owe it to the people who can clear them and need big jumps to do what they want to make them large.

If you're young or light, and want to clear jumps, make sure your boards are waxed, and point it.

Is the right jump line going to get rebult it should be a 25 a 30 and a 40. That would be the ideal size for learning tricks.IMO if they dont get re done then they should get better landings. Whens the redo about to happen?

ya, there is something to be said for not using 40 year old ski boot technology.

bindings are a different story, at least they retooled the dynafit and pivot bindings.

Wat happened?

My skis are going into the realms of being fixed by Evo because of my binding recall, I'll be looking at the end of the season to get them back from Marker I feel. They said "they didn't have an exact date for me" which means forever. Look for me on a dope pair of Roxy skis or on my snowboard, even.
