Stevens Park Pass

It is a sick Idea. I wish every mountain did it, then You wouldn't have to worry about dad and his fucking kids skiing down the landins of every jump because it's "fun", and they "can ski whereever they want to" I've had hat argument so many times.

Sick

and since we already know almost everyone likes the idea of park passes let's not argue in this thread or say why we need them, as I'm sure everyone agrees.

Word, that's what my brother said but I wasn't sure if it was set in stone as of now.

That's nice of them not to charge a lot. I'd pay a lot more than $5 for sure if they kept the park maintinance up and whatnot. But this should decrease the need for maintinance anyway.

I would actually pay upwards of 30 bucks if ti meant the park crew could staff more people who know what they are doing. If maintenance was better I'd def pay way more.

You have to watch a video and fill out a waiver. Yet, unlike Blackcomb (where if you get to the park without a pass, then you have to go back all the way down, then all the way back up) you watch the video up top your first day (new little park building), then pick up a photo pass (akin to the Blackcomb pass) whenever that day and you're set for the season.

So this is actually gunna happen for this season? I'm not sure what I think about a park pass... Tuesdays and Wendsdays don't tend to have that many little shits rolling over the jumps but I can see how it can get pretty hetic on the weekends. So it's a one time deal though stop watch a movie get a pass and thats it? Is someone going to check passes at the enterance to the park?

I agree that a park pass is a great way to keep people out of the park that endanger those who are actually using the features. However, a $5 fee and the requirement of watching a video, wouldn't that still be fairly easy for kids/gapers to do and get their park pass? It seems that there still may be people getting the park pass that wouldn't really need it at all.

It makes people take the time interval to do it, and you would be surprised how much just a little hurdle like that can do. If they had it set up so you could buy it online it would not work, but if you actually have to take 10-30 minutes of on mountain time interval then it will work. I hope.

Well remember this is just for what will be the highest level part of the park (essentially the main line on the right side). It will filter out a lot of people, especially the random people that just happen to go through there once in a great while, which arouse the most frustration, since theyre the ones usually bringing their 5 year olds through there and such. Plus, little ski school groups probably wont invest the time, which is an added bonus.

The rest of the park will be free to roam, which is good, but having a nice filter could certainly facilitate such delightful features, and ideally, at earlier dates (rather than say march or april).

haha, grant has 6969 posts. im definatley stoked on the idea, it makes alot of sense and will give stevens some good press too

i ussually made it to stevens once a week for weekdays when baker wasnt getting snow. will be the same this year as long as i get a good schedule.

I hope snoqualmie will take a look at this. a great idea. although it may be harder for them to implement. maybe i'll have to get a pass to stevens next year if snoqualmie doesn't do something similar.

exactly, the simple fact that people are going to have to put in an extra effort to ride these features is going to keep a shitload of retards out

This year in the park is going to be bad, bad to the bone. A manditory park pass will be required for all user's of the Top Phlight Terrain Park. Heres the low down on the down low. You arive at Stevens Pass nestled in the heart of the Cascades, jump on either the high speed quad Skylline or the fixed grip double Brooks and head to the top. On your way up you notice some thing strangly different with the top of the park. A new entrance? A building? A bigger park? New rails? Whats going on!

When you arive at the park, you enter a new stylish building, watch a short film on the Smart Style Basics, sign a realease form and are given a ticket that says "Welcome to Top Phlight!" Then you do what you do best, Ride. Ride all day long until your legs can't take it anymore. At some point during the day either when you take a break from lapping the park or on your way home to dream about coming back, you swing in Guest Relations, located on the first floor of the Granite Peaks Lodge and hand over you ticket you received at the top of the park. After you pay a five dollar printing fee, they then snap you photo, hand you your very own park pass. Now you can ride the Top Phlight Park all year long. Hassle free. If you have any questions or would like to send me "Thank you" cards email me at bstanford@stevenspass.com. I'll put you cards on my wall at home, or mabey even my fridge. Keep in touch we will be posting some pics of the new stuff that will be in the park this year.

Pray for snow!

Terrain Park guru,

Brian Stanford

It sounds sick, my only suggestion would be that you would have to go down to the base to watch the movie. just makes it more of a hassle for the gomers.

Yeah as for new boxes and rails going to have a 50' flat rail, were rebuilding the C.box wider taller, Lcouple new twenty foot boxes, small kid stuff 10' box oh yeah a 55'down flat down single barrel rail, were going to rebuild the rainbow box because it was trashed last spring (sorry ran it over with a cat) and we added 4 acres plus many more little secrets i cant tell you guys yet. going to be a good year.

we talked about having it in the base area but it sounded more feasable to have it at the top of the park during the first weeks of being open we are going to offer it in the PCL

ya Im doing night classes at cascadia through running start 2nd semester and I'll hope to be up there atleast 5 days a week.

idk i was just thinking that we could carpool some time or somthing. can you join uw bothell clubs? cause i can hook up some free lift tickets if you can

Ya carpools would be great. I dont know if I can join clubs but as far as stevens goes, I work there so I have a pass. Tix to other places would be great though. Carpooling is a huge good deal though.

ya i just started a snowboard/ski club, and we get $1500 to do whatever with. so ya. i worked up there last year, but during the summer i got a job, and so now i cant but i get a free pass through my dad, cause he works up there. but anyway, what days do you have classes?
