Stevens Opening

Haha yes but I only have my good skis. Is there enough coverage for good skis? My shit skis are getting mounted right now.

if your gonna be skiing park, your skis'll be just fine

and if you try not to hit like sticks and shit then its no problem

oh ya, is anyone going up tomorrow

What up. What do you guys think of the park pass. Its crazy right now but when we get all the kinks out it should go smooth.

Park setup from top to bottom.

20' Flat box, barrel rail, battle ship, 20' flat rail, flat down rail, 20' flat rail, 40' up flat box, 38' flat down rail, 20' flat rail, waterfall jump, smalll table over on brennans, junks jump, 38' up flat down flat down box, S rail and small kiddy rail.

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions/comments.

ps we are building a wall ride.............

TOP PHLIGHT!

Well if were gunna get crazy this year Let's bring back a Channel gap! I'm not a huge fan of rails but love big jumps. I also a big fan of hips/spines. One things for sure leave the cock ride in the garage this season. See you fools every tuesday and wendsdays. Cheers

very impressed with the rail setup for the first day and the park pass seems to be working great so far. down flat down soon? please?

PLEASE. I want to see Grant deck himself on it this year.

And the cock ride needs to be put in somehow, maybe 'implemented' (lolz) a bit different tho... could you make it into a 'house' style rail to go ontop of a spine?

Comments from my first day up there:

Goes without saying that the park pass needs to be integrated into the season pass, having two is a pain in the ass.

Park is nice, wish the jumps had better 'rolling' landings, and more jumps (always more jumps). The chutes really need to be consistently groomed this year, I know its early season, but I'm saying this now - they're going to get a lot more use and get a fuckload bumpier when people start mobbing them to skip the Brooks ride.

Honestly, I'm all for the penalties you can incur by doing stupid shit in the park. And I know you guys probably have your hands full just dealing with the pass system and starting that up. But today, on no less than two runs, I saw two groups of people duck the barrier to get in the park, and we still have those little kids (as well as some gapers) buttering up the rail takeoffs. Seriously, to keep the park good, you either need to enforce the policy and rules or get a 'distraction park' to keep them off the features they misuse. Now is the crucial time - if you start lax you set a precedent for people to break the rules and endanger others.

That being said, I know its mega-early season, your hands are full with the new pass system dynamics, and theres no snow to build anything else. I'm just saying, as you're probably aware, that for the park to live up to the standards you're implying with the pass, its going to need a bit more refinement over the next few weeks. And I'm not kidding, I'm way impressed with the park and the setup you guys got going so early in the season, if it keeps up it'll be the best park Stevens has ever had.

And also, if you have any extra proceeds from the passes... buy some lights for the park at night!

I saw some ski patrol nabbing people who ducked the rope on a couple of occasions, even those who were so "innocently" trying to get to their cabin... bleh

But yea, there were some gapers still (but certainly not as bad as it would be otherwise). Considering the amount of snow in the park is so little, the park was rockin (more snow would be niiiice). I was pretty stoked. We'll just see how it pans out once (if) we get more snow. I haven't seen a park this good in this area when there is such a lack of snow, so hopefully that will correlate later.

yea

now now, im not being critical because realistically (remember that kohl?) there is very, very little snow. If we had this exact park with like a 6ft+ base, I would be in uproar, but that is far from the case. The fact that they're even open is pretty daring. I was pretty impressed with the utilization of snow, and good amount of rails and boxes. Lots of fun features, albeit firm as hell.

I can be a critical bitch when it is warranted...

Skinned from the top of tye mill. I knew it was going to be nasty and rock hard, but I don't mind skiing that run like that. If the snow is going to suck that much I like to challenge myself a little and ski something steepish. What I didn't count on was the crux being almost completely snow free, since I had on some new skis I spent almost an hour downclimbing with my skis on my pack, the snow was so hard that where I was down climbing I had to kick 5-6 times in order to make a foot hold while trying to hold on to bushes/ previous foot holds with my hands. The reward of down climbing that section was virgin untouched rock solid avy debris to to the bottom and then finding that the river was still there so I skied out on the PCT towards big chief. It was the most exciting run of my winter so far.

well the park was sick on sunday too, but the jump after the waterfall was stupid, the inrun was practically flat

oh ya and rowen i think i saw you when i was leavin....were you with a kid with maroon pants with like a white jeep cherokee

i like to hit the jumps to rails and just kang them. is that ok?

maybe change to rule to you have to do a legit kang or japan off the rails jump in order to not get in trouble?

i was their, than again yesterday. and im gonna be back saterday probly. They had lots of boxes and rails, and a little like 1 foot jump and the waterfall! the waterfall was pretty legit, but i dident like the little lip they had at the end.

Haha, yeah, thats the guy who was teaching me to wakeboard over the summer. Shoulda said hi!
