Stess fractured shins

So my doctor says both of my shins are probably stress fractured as a result of skiing. I have a bone scan scheduled to see how bad the stress fracture is or if it is a normal fracture. Basically the only cure for stress fructures is no pressure which according to my doctor would be up to a year and a half depending on the severity of my injury. Has this happened to anyone else??????

OH that sucks man, a couple days ago i was skiing and took a jump wayyy to deep and got some serious shin bang, now i can't even put my boots on, i hope that's not what i have

yeah when i was 13 i was trying to flip onto my cousins trampoline from the ground with a running start and i jumped too early and landed just smashing both my shins into the metal part on the side of the trampoline. my dad and my uncle carried me into the house and put me on the couch and i couldnt get up for a week i just layed there and watched tv and ate it sucked. i never went to the doctor but when i went for my yearly physical i still had bumps on my shins and i asked the doctor why they were still there and he said it was cuz i probly had stress fractures. i still have the bumps to this day 3 years later

shiiiiiiit your afterbang must be insane.

but really, that sucks bro, get well soon eh!

ya i have had bumps for like a year and just thought it was really bad long lasting shin bang but then they got really bad so i went to my doctors.

I got 3 stress fractures in my right leg during cross country season and I was on crutches for about 6 weeks. I just went skiing for the first time on christmas and it seemed to be okay, but my leg does still hurt from time to time. I don't know if yours are really, really bad but a year and a half doesn't sound right to me. But yeah it does suck, sorry to hear you have them.

^^ya that sounds like to much time off to me but thats what my doctor said the worst would be but forget that i couldnt go a year and a half without skiing

I feel for ya dude, injuries are not fun at all. Just do what I do, take a bunch of painkillers before you go skiing ha.
