Stept Productions - "Mutiny" Trailer

unreal.

After the first 2 seconds I thought the whole movie was just gonna be a copy of the 86, but after watching the rest everything looks bigger/gnarlier...if that's possible

I think that's kind of the point.

This movie is meant to show the dirty and behind the scenes of urban riding, not just the polished end result, atleast thats what it seems like to me

Not gonna lie, I liked the 86 trailer more. I'm still extremely stoked to see the movie though. I'm gonna be checking my mail crazy often later this week.

Nerd alert: they didn't use the 2.35:1 crop... wonder how many kids that made edits using 2.35 crop this year will switch back to 16:9 next year?

I completely disagree.

Stept is going in a different direction than the 86. The 86 and weight were both so good, its very hard to make another epic movie. They probably could've gone in the same direction but they didn't want to.

Looking forward to this movie, hoping for some raw urban stuff, some good docu style segments.

The 86 is my favorite ski movie. I would have liked to see another one like it. Maybe this new style will be even better but I'll have to wait until the movie gets here to decide.

Meh, who gives a shit?

The only people who would switch just because stept did, are the same people who are using it wrongly, & cutting heads, so I see it as a plus.

Also

With all respect to Stept, the skiing looked sick.

That trailer did not make me want to ski at all though. Skiing's supposed to be fun not make me feel sad.

Also the dip to blacks got super annoying.

Can someone tell me what the hell is going on at 46 seconds?? What's up with that haggard looking prostitute in a keg-filled basement?

How is that even possible....

RANT:

1) How is the 86 your favorite ski movie? Theres practically no mountains in the whole thing... The closest they get is the park and maybe a side country jump.

2) Going through all the trouble to hit a flat rail 200 ft in the air probably just so they could get the shot of wilson falling/jumping off and parachuting to the bottom, is just dumb and seems like a waste.

3) Stept seems to be taking shit way to seriously, I get the fact the urban can be sketchy and super dangerous but enough with the dark editing and the serious shit as someone already pointed out this is skiing its meant to be fun.

Now I like stept I've even bought both the 86 and weight an thoroughly enjoyed both, as i probably by mutiny and probably enjoy that as well but all i'm saying is they gotta just chill out and maybe start some REAL SKIING ON REAL MOUNTAINS WITH REAL CLIFFS AND REAL SNOW.

I know people will probably hate on this but fuck it whatever.

Everyone should shut the fuck up about the trailer and just wait for the movie.

It's going to be fucking epic.

For somebody who doesn't take shit way to seriously, you seem to complain a lot about other peoples opinions/way of doing things.

I mean I get that its not supposed to be epic and I wasn't looking for another 86 but I just am not as stoked about this one as I was on the last 2. Just my opinion... Im still looking forward to watching it tho

The thing is that urban skiing and mountain skiing are so different from each, they can hardly be put in the same category. As I think Nick Martini said in Weight, mountain skiers go to the back country to test their skills, park skiers go to the streets. for me while the big mountain skiing is cool, it seems repetitive to me. maybe because im from Minnesota and never skied big mountain before but thats just how I feel about it.With that said, the 86 is hands down my favorite ski movie and that trailer absolutely blew my mind hole

Lol. You don't need every aspect of skiing to make a great movie. I movie needs to tell a story and that's exactly what stept is doing this year.

And before i get called a fanboy, yes I'm a huge fanboy

This

I think 16:9, 1.66:1 1.85:1 etc... makes it look more real and docu-like as you say, and it's the aspects you want to shoot in if you want to make a documentary or some social-realism shit. 2.35/40 is allways beautifull for the epic movies.

It's all about what movie you want to make.

They're striving for a more raw documentary style approach and it's stept don't fucking doubt them.

Absolutely unreal. I can't imagine the pressure these guys must be under every year. The videos they put out are the most epic and gnarly.

The dips to black is what makes me hate this trailer. The movie will still be incredible I jus hate the trailer

much respect to STEPT! they are the benchmark that no one comes close to in documenting this style of riding. Such high level, high consequence action! Can't wait to see.
