If you didn’t make the yearly stept nostalgia thread I was gonna do it. Gotta make sure someone posts a thread where we give our respects annually to the best crew to ever do it ??

I would agree but without stept you wouldn’t even have all-urban movies. They literally changed the entire sport, and to this day thin and few urban cuts come close to the level that stept guys rode.

That being said most gutter crew is definitely the best rn, and honestly probably better than stept ever was, but the gap between stept and the next best crew in the 2010s was miles larger than the gap between strictly and like forre, buldoz etc.

you’re right that most gutter is the best crew in the streets since stept. You’re wrong that they’re better than stept.

I mean depends on what you consider better. Seamus pulled up to a cam Riley drop and hucked a back 6 off it. We can disagree that one is “better” than the other, but one is certainly more technical

i guess my argument is the quality and years stept had the run. Sure Seamus one upped riley but who put that spot on the map? If were being honest here Most Gutter crew has had 2 banger urban movies (arguably 3) Stept changed the game for 5 years from Road to Nowhere to Ten and Two. If Strictly has a run like that i’ll be hard to beat but all those kids are years removed from college aged, stept did all their shit from 18-23 at boulder, Strictly came up past those years and with a blueprint from stept so there is a lot less more respect for stept. Not shit talking strictly just i grew up on stept and truly believe no one will ever touch their shit ever again in skiing.

I was really trying not to slip into a lil old head mode but some of these comments got me fucked up. We all have our own opinions and that fine. However if you have not seen this video then your opinion has been formed prematurely.

I never even disagreed with anything you just said. I guess the only part we have any sort of disagreement on is which one we like more. I’ll never slander stept, they own street skiing forever, but I also tend to get a lot more enjoyment out of active riders because I also hate living in the past. To each their own, but we both are on the same page with the game changing and consistency aspect.

Not oldhead at all ETG deserves to be in this conversation. They influenced like, pretty much every modern urban ski flick.

as much as i’m dick riding stept in this thread christian franchino eat the guts part is a top 10 urban part of all time. My boy chris really didn’t have to do em like that!!
