Step mom trippin about my weed

My dad's wife was talking about weed smoking and I openly said, "I have smoked and smoke a couple times a month." I was being honest. She then said, "Oh you'll get brain damage and your still intoxicated for days after you smoke. YOU CANT DRIVE FOR WEEKS!" She used her rich uncle as some exapmle of him smoking weed and ending up homeless. He has some other issues thats all I have to say.

I then said,"Well you drink alcohol. That can cause brain damage. especially when used in excess." She replies, "no it can't! Weed does alcohol doesn't cause brain damage"

She then avoided me for months. She won't go on vacations with me, and she whispers about me to my dad when I am in the other room and my dad then comes to me being extremely critical of little stuff like not asking him what he is doing in work. While I have only been home for 20 minutes.

Its whack. Why do people have to be so damn tense? She literally is so freaked out that she wont have her kids around me. They are 18 and 16.

Its like she is trying to keep me from being part of her family or something?

When ever I come by she has her kids go to their dads, and she doesn't have them come on vacations if I am coming along.

She freaked out at me 3 months back about weed and her views of it were about as bad as heroin. My roommates were shocked, it was so bad she mad my dad take my college money and she said I would be homeless.

Shes not busy she is taking vacation and going to California instead....
 
honestly this situation is fucked up I need some help. They just married and she has always not been so close to me.

She makes my dad think I don't like her then my dad gets mad at me. Its whack. I treat her as nice as I can, and get criticized time after time for little things about not talking about peoples jobs and stuff.

This lady told me I would be homeless so I don't really want to talk to her much. I will talk to her I just don't want to sit down and have a 30 minute conversation with her unless I am at dinner.

Just tell her that you've changed your mind and stopped smoking. Tell her she helped you make this decision for yourself. She'll love it. There's no point in continuing the argument, because she probably wont change her mind, so it is probably just best to make amends with her and move on. You either have parents that understand it and are ok with it, or you don't--sounds like you weren't so lucky on this front.

Lol well I gro mad herb and it pays bills doe. My dad doesn't care about it, his wife thinks I am a loser because I smoke weed. She is this woman that wants to live this high class life and she sees weed as a drug that homeless and degenerates do and thinks the herb takes people to the gutter and makes them a drug addict.

I should buy a bag and a joint from the rec store and give it to her.

Just accept that she's under the classic reefer scare and that chances are she will always hate it. Thanks to the WOD, most past generations have always perceived weed as something that deteriorate your brain, makes you get bad grades, or fucks up your life. Just say you went cold turkey and stopped.

Honestly, you need to talk to your dad about his. Sit them down, and explains that you understand his wife and you have different approaches to weed, but you are an adult, and choose to do whatever you do to your body. You need to let him know how much it hurts to be excluded from the family.
 
lol your step mom sounds like a character. i don't wanna say bad person because i don't even know her, but the word vacationing shouldn't be a thing and it sounds like she's trying to uproot you from the family for a trivial thing. You probably won't be able to change her mind, you should probably just take sno's advice and hope she makes your dad happy lol

Yeah man, I sat them down and said I am not to be excluded and criticized unreasonably but I appreciate the concern. I stern set out examples. She gives her daughter 2 new cars after she drunkenly crashed one and crashed the other and I get kicked out the family for lighting up the gas and exposing my step mom to bud in my own house.

I set them strait kind of.... Now I'm about to not fuck up and prove them I can pull out wads of cash from my pockets and throw it all over their damn house. That day will happen and I'll ask, "what happened to me being homeless?"

Then Ill ball out and take a heli trip and spend way too much money and smooke way too much dope.
 
As fun as it would be to "Pull mad wads out" just don't give her a reason to hate on you. Of course you should engage in discussion and just catch up with tu padre, but also, once in a while, give your old man a call, they appreciate it. Also, once in a while send her a text to see whats new, or some bullshit that she would eat up.

Also from a business prospective, I would advise on not spreading yourself too thin, and to get a financial adviser before you pull out said "mad wads".

Just chill out, and let the hater hate. Also, because it isn't a terrible idea, totally try to get that daughter to back you up some how, even though from my prospective, it would just weaken your argument. You do you boo boo.

Stay close with your dad. My friends parents parted for a few months and during that time my friend and our little group got close with him since hes a cool ass guy. During that time I think his dad basically said it was ok for him to smoke and didnt mind us doing so and still doesnt. Ever since they started living with eachother the mom is crazy when it comes to us smoking, catching us and mostly bitching about how kids our age (17-18) cant be doing it since our brains wont grow properly and that only people her age can me smoking. Yeah we dont drink excessively either because that shit actually can fuck someone up.
 
Assert yourself on your parents. Say that youre 17 and can do whatever you want to your body. Tell them you know the consequences and can do what you want

It's simply the wedge you gave her to drive you out of the inheritance. DUH! Pull your Dad aside and have a talk with him, shes a lost cause. Tell him that you love him and don't understand her crazy behavior, and your concern that she is trying to drive you and your Dad apart by any means necessary.

Yes I know but thats her only argument and even when its completely unneccesary she repeats it. There are kids at my school who are clear proof of it too.

My mom is the opposite, she knows weed is not dangerous, she knows alcohol kills more people everyday than weed has like ever. She found out I smoked, well I confessed, she had just caught me sneaking out to go out and knock boots, which she also knows about, but anyways I've only smoked weed a few times and she wasn't upset, obviously she doesnt want her 16 year old son smoking, but she would rather me smoke a bowl than get shit faced. I think more people need to smoke rather than drink, you dont see dudes commit domestic violence while high, at least not of my knowledge. Weed>Alcohol IMO

Yeah I acted cool around them its kind of worked. She just treats me like I am a shithead sometimes. I literally treat them nice as I can and my friends parents who are close to my family think its fucked up and they talk to me about it. They know I smoke and all. They know my dad really well and my dad and my friends dad used to work together. My dad is good and treats me well. Its his wife.

It is what it is I guess. Sometimes I just have to lie about stuff I guess. My dad always wanted me to be honest but I guess I can't around her.

She drinks 2-3 drinks every night, eats Vyvanse every, and tells me that drinking isn't bad and doesn't cause negative effects to my brain like marijuana.

Im worried what will happen to her kids later since they have no experience with alcohol yet their mom treats it like its not a drug.

It just gets blows me away how much money she gives her kids to buy Louis Vuitton bullshit then tells my dad to stop helping with me going to college and tells me I am going to be living on the street and acts like her kids are on the road to success when her kids barely pass high school math classes.....

Living on my own is good though. That needed to happen. I can save my money and do pretty much what ever I want. Im going back to school and saving up for some good times.Family is bullshit sometimes even though they are family.

I just needed some people to talk to about this.

Yeah honestly dude, drinking is crazy worse. My teacher in high school went on this huge tangent one day about how cannabis is a much more responsible way to relax. Its medical, helps people chill out, and doesn't start violence. Cannabis, mellows people out and makes them feel great. It also makes people lazy, and in turn makes people want to enjoy their time then trying to instigate a blacked out male dominance bullshit fight like alcohol does.

Drinking causes people to not think their actions through and I think cannabis many times has the opposite affect since it can make people "paranoid" or think more deeply about what they are doing. More self judgement and thought provoking.

I have seen drunk people at foot ball games multiple times trying to deuce it out 10 feet away from 5 officers not realizing the cops are 10 feet away. They both got arrested. That kind of stuff wouldn't have happened if they were just smoking weed.

Alcohol is the most dangerous, deadly drug in the world due to the amount of people that use the substance and how much its accepted in different societies.

Weed brings all types of people together because we all have one thing in common. We want to get stoned and have a good time and its easy to share a joint compared to sharing a beer.

Same here my parents clearly know whats going on when I say Im sleeping at a friends house but they never say come home or get pissed, probably because they dont want me on the roads at night while baked plus its usually at my friends whos parents are fine with it and make sure we dont go anywhere stoned.

As for OP I agree, smoking is easier and more enjoyable but its odd one of my friends gets really pissy and intense when hes stoned unless hes baked into a vegetable. I try avoiding him because it ruins the chill vibe.

Cannabis can't really fix a shitty personality, but all I am saying is alcohol tends to make people forget about thinking things through. Cannabis tends to make people talks and sit around instead of getting hyped up and energetic/wild like alcohol does.

All the time people sleep with someone they wouldn't want to or get arrested/ticketed for doing something stupid when drunk and they don't remember it or never would have don't that if they were in a different state of mind. People make a lot of decisions they regret when they drink and that doesn't happen so much with weed.

A shitty person is still a shitty person whether they are intoxicated or not.

I am so high right now, well not really it kind of faded away but still pretty toked, I kind of lost track when reading because it's really long, but yeah I agree.
 
Fuck her, why do you care what a woman like that thinks about you? If she is so stupid to negate the alcohol damage then she has to be that people that see only what they want to see and think everything else is false (I'm looking at you catholics).
