Steeze vs. Spin to win

there's a lot of bitching about all the pros just spinning to win on ns usually. somebody's always complaining about judges choosing rotation over steeze

dumont oozed pure style with that dub front.

why the hate?

because even though that was suuper steezy and nasty, it was not NEARLY as technical or hard as Jon's flip. also, Dumont needs to get a new trick because that is alll that he does.

i'm not saying dumont deserved to win, i don't even want to go there.

but the man just brought steeze into the biggest comp of the year. why hate so much?

personally id rather see a flat 5or 7 or even a cork 3, because its technically hard to do haha, instead of like a 12 or cork 10. i think smaller spins liek that are doper. mabye immust weird

if you want steeze watch jon's flip and pks dubcork ive never seen a double flip as smooth as his or a double cork as smooth as pk's.

normally, i would go for steeze, but dumont did it with such a douche bag quality it really pissed me off

honestly, I would take steezed out 5, even a 3, over a 9 or 10 any day

The fact that it was in a contest made it sooo lame. If it was actually a judged comp there is no way in hell that dumont would have done that. You know it, i know it, and he knows it. Way to go. Prick award goes to........

most of the people that voted thought flips were cool/harder than the double. I wouldnt call it a popularity contest though .

The first bouble front dumont did was the second stezeyist thing ive ever seen, second only to t-wall at life

Are you kidding me? You're the kind of shit head that ruined big air this year. A double front is not that hard, a switch double cork is.

steeze is way better than spin to win. pk deserved that gold. his double was super steeze with the high mute 12 and stomped.

Anyone think that maybe PK just didnt cork his hard enough?? Sa-weeeeeeeet trick but it was barely a cork in the end.

Dont hate me! I still think the sw dub 12 should have won!!!!!

i feel exactly the same way.
just someone busting a huge floater 5 with the cleanest landing would be the best in my mind

they are for sure gonna change the judges next year for sure. i liked it like last year. with the ppls vote, the hosts vote and the judges thats how it should of been this year but props to simon. makin the dub front easy and the suicide after the first front. sooooo sick. if thats not steez then dont know what is, jons trick was alot harder but ppl decided simon was gonna win.

please...in competition you can't throw a 5 and win because everybody else can throw a huge 5. a 14 year old could throw a huge 5 if he has been skiing park for a year.

word i mean personally i like the looks of smaller spins(no bigger than 7's) over 12 and shit. but in a comp theres no way (if i was ajudge) i could let a steezy 7 win over a dub cork 12.

I was neutral on the whole dumont thing until this point. Now I realize he truly is the biggest fag in the world. Everyone else in that competition had new and innovative tricks that are advancing our sport, and here comes retard to through a trick "done 40 years ago".

Everyone cry more please. Dumont realized it was a play-to-the-fans competition. That may have been the best double frontfilp I've seen (not switch double supermans just regular double fronts). He took it so far down the landings. Now, I personally think that PK should've won with the switch double cork 12 but hey it's a competition where people go for wow factor. I was personally more wowed by Dumont's front to superman front just because of how long he held the superman for.

+1
Imo the person who throws the biggest slowest D spin should win in any comp. With steezy flatspin 5's and big laid out underflips duking it out for the bronze and silver.

No, I said that it was crowd voting and a wow factor. I meant dumont in the finals seeing as how he was against Jon not PK in the finals. I find Kangaroos over-played.

yeah i think double fronts arent steezy at all, front flips are just one of those tricks that is just kinda goofy mess around trick its just like "Hey look i can do a front flip w00t"compared to jons double cork that was a jokenot saying it isnt hard to do a double front but the double cork looked soooooooo much beter, dumont looked like he got shot out of a cannon or something and was performing aerial acrobatics for the circus or somethingno wonder jon wants to go back to racing not to mention after that little dick remark dumont made

double front flip will never equal steeze, even if T-Wall does it. I'd rather see steeze in a big spin, like PKs switch 12, or Sammys 12 in the slopestyle.

id like to see some other guy do that kinda double front.

and why hate dumont so much, he didnt choice that its sms voting lol? if he really doesnt do anything else than those tricks, then let him do it ffs, the whole big air comp was a joke, the people who chose it to be sms voting are a joke, imo even this whole subject is a joke.

a lot of people can do double fronts but NO one can do them to that style....I wanna see a steezier double front than the one he threw....now no it wasnt as hard as PK's trick by any means never no way but, the people voted and judged it...I do not understand how everyone hates on Dumont, give him some respect for what he has all done for the sport of skiing

i understand why people arnt happy with the double front..but if we are pissed he won with then shouldnt we be complaining about the voting system not the trick dumont choose to do

Steeze for sho.

Simons flip was steezy, but it also wasn't as good looking as jon are hunder.

IMO it would have been color if simon did a switch front with tweaked grab.

Whatever, text to vote blows.

jon shoulda christian biere'd it and throw the switch double superman once he saw simon was just gonna do the gimmick again, that woula sealed!

the steeziest/biggest/most technical rotation should win in every big air contest, unless otherwise specified. That's all there is to it. It has to be a combination of those things.

Jon and PK's tricks were in the same league as Dumont's for style, and were far more technical than a double front. You can't judge something on pure style or pure technicality, it has to be balanced out.

. dumont was gay and screwed pk outta. he needs to get some new tricks or get outta big air. seeing pk go down to a dub front really pissed me off

how about both?? i think a steezy sw 12 is better than an equally steezy sw 7. thats my opinion though.

and also did anyone notice how the x games were even supporting the "spin to win" theme in skiing and snowboarding. The commentators even said that it was basically spin to win. with that mind set the x games in gunna go down the toilet (if it hasnt already) my 2 cents.

x2

and to the steeze argument, while i usually agree with the argument, a double front is never steezy, and dumont kept throwing that trick.

I get that dumont only played the game, but seeing as he knew that the crowd would like a double front better than a double cork 12, he shouldn't do a double front. It would be soo much better if he actually threw a progressing trick like the other competators. I mean, he would probably have won still, but he wouldn't have gotten all the newschoolers hating on him for it...
