Steamboat

Keep your eyes open for a little grom starting on March 19th through the 25th. He is in a brown and white obermeyer and green camos and rides Armada Ween Sharks. Throws 9's at 12 years old. He did well at the Nextsnow in killington and I am helping to find some people for him to ride with next week. We met the other kids who qualified and represented steamboat at Killington, so that is good, but I am just trying to get the word out to anyone who might be out there. We got a house under the gondala. He has been to Steamboat 3 times.

the younger and smaller, the easier it is. kids should get no extra credit. pow is nice, park is good, gapers are bad. damn texans
 
today was super fun! sw 7 inhumane is so so much fun, but hard... htf did tj do double that of me...lol crazy.. Anyways pipe comp employee race tomorrow!

This is how i see my run going... drop in switch throw a sw cork 9 truck, to a right side cork 9 mute, to a sw left side rodeo 10, to a sw right side 10!

do you? do you know how he pretty much treats our entire staff like shit except when he wants something? when he bitches about how his rails are when he fuckin overcharges for them, and DOESNT EVEN OWN THEM ANYMORE, then tries to tell us how to set them up? do you know the shit he gives us over stupid crap? HELLO THERE CACTOFAG, the park does NOT cater to SSWSC, thank you very much. Part of being in this sport is dealing with variable conditions and locations, NOT ALWAYS having everything be the way YOU want it. Time to get a fuckin wake up call cactofag, other resorts arent going to cater to your stupid demands, and neither is steamboat. He's honestly the one thing holding back our park.
 
I agree that the SSWSC sucks and that cactus is a joey sometimes...I mean common, he's a snowboarder, but he has been around forever and has paid his dues. If he over-charges? so what, it's his business and just like everyone else on the planet he's just trying to make some dough. You have to admit that his rails/platters are by far the sickest that steamboat has seen in a long time. I think last season was a milestone for steamboat and new features, plus they had the night rail jams....Anytime I've ever talked to him he's been nice to me...I don't know if he is a fake or what, that is really beside the point, plus I don't care. The point is, without his rails, steamboat would blow, so you gotta respect that. I know you guys are in the park a lot and work hard and he probably just pushes you around, but when you're his age and maybe running your own business, (unless you already are and I appologize) then you may be in his same position. You never know. Steamboat takes over people like that...sucks.
 
Ouch you guys are harshing on the park a little hard.

The park right now, is the best that Steamboat has had since it was over in Sunshine, under the slowest lift on earth.

I know that I am not throwing down of the show time booters but for me on my teles I manage to have a good time. Thats what it is all about in the end of the day.

I really dont get all the angry kids in the park.
 
I think Tom/Daniel and whoever else works up there every single day feels a little more frustrated than just the people cruising thru...which is very understandable...Knowing me, I'd be way sick of that shit too by now.
 
well if the mountain management had a clue, we could have had quality rails just as good if not better than cactus for a much lower price. he overcharges bigtime for those rails. plus he thinks that if theres something in park that isnt to "his satisfaction" he can just boss us around and get us to do it, sorry but I dont think so buddy. the railjam tomorrow is going to be totally sweet, and one of the main reasons.....little to NO cacto involvement.
 
billy kidd knows where the ski area needs to go. trust me. he understands better than anyone of the 4th floor. which is sad. and cactus is just taking pride in his product, and that means he wants it set up to his specs. and tom i know that it sucks when people get in your face about your job.

Yeah - he is a good kid and your park crew is the best! Steven mentioned that he liked the park better 2 years ago for what his opinion is worth.
 
so i think that i broke my collar bone today snowboarding. third day snowboarding ever and i thought i could do the little rainbow rail, but i got pitched straight to my shoulder and heard a crunch. damn.
 
You are a dumbass...I have no sympathy for that story...I might as well call you Shon Howard from now on. Oh, yeah and I've broken my left collar bone twice in 2 diff. spots. You're lucky it's the end of the season, cause you will be out if it is broken...Plus it's like one of the most painful injuries there is, besides breaking ribs. Good luck sleeping at night! You're gonna need Edleman to pull you outta bed every morning! haha
 
this is my fourth time breaking my collar bone. i how it feels and how much it sucks. 3 times now on the left and once on the right. by the way i was ripping the snowboard for my third day ever. snowboarding is fun and the more ways you can get down the mountain the easier skiing will be.
 
True, indeed...I snowboarded back east here before ever moving to colorado in 01 before it even got that big...Hell, I even still own that one, but it's like the oldschool shiz where the tail is barely turned up...more of a speed board...and yeah, I did it for about a season, had some halacious catching edges scenarios and decided I like skiing a lot better. :)
 
Jensen, where did you go after I saw you saturday morning? that rail jam was so lame anyway...

Whos down for summit/vail trips after the mountain closes?
 
me as well, bout time i started using this 5mtn pass again. and I gotta get my day total to 180.....everyone dont forget this sunday, gonna be a ruckus.
 
you guys should have came out today, come on I killed it :P

oh ya, I'm down to go fo sho. Both the party thing and driving out to summit.
