um, you probably don't know me....i rode with a couple of friends in fish creek and the back country most of the season; and with a fucked up knee at the start of the season (4th day the mountain was open); obviously i was benched for a short time. For the record, i wouldn't have fucked up my knee if that god damn bomb hole wasn't there gina. i stomped the trick i was trying and landed on the back side of the bomb hole and it made my tip flex out, kinda like a rainbow and fuckin hyperextened my knee.
Why censor me, i can say whatever the fuck i want about steamboat, i've lived in that town, i've expirienced how lame it is. you guys act like you're better than everyone cuz you live there and shit, 'does anyone even know you?' Apparently, i wouldn't wanna know your faggot ass. but, i have seen you (from the chairlift), and i've read up on the steamboat forum. Especially, when i was moving up there last summer and i was interested in what steamboat, as a mountain, had to offer. i heard you people saying how wicked it was and all sorts of bull shit. why don't you stop lying to yourself and look at the facts.
steamboat looses money every year due to the old fucks who run that town. if someone else would buy that place and make reasonable lifts (rather than one fucking gondola that shuts down everytime it gets windy, which results in a 1 hr. ride to get to the other lift, Lionhead) they would be able to push a hell of alot more skiers up there. This would be make them a shit load more cash. Or if they lowered their prices, people would ski steamboat rather than buying a fucking snowmobil and riding buffalo pass and rabbit ears. They don't tell you about the gaypers (people that are horrible at skiing) and ski school (literally 7 year old kids by the heard) running through your local park all day. I'm sorry but, I could bitch endlessly about this mountain.
The rules that the mountain enforces are lame, one being, no switch skiing (we bought these twin tipped skis for a reason guys). shit you can't even bomb heavenly daze without having someone chase you (what else is that run good for?). To top it off, if you've been clipped x number of times, they make you take a ski safety class!
Let's not lie to ourselves, the older people hate the park aspect of the snowsports and don't want anyone to even be riding it. They simply use it as a marketing ad to appeal to the younger ages, which is smart, but if you're going to make a fake park, why not just build a decent safe one? They got all the water for the needed snow making! And, there is no way you can justify that reverse hill (by slopeside) they blew at that bottom of the mountain. Yeah, it's a cool beginner slope, but they have plenty of those (ironiclly right in front of this reverse slope, under all the christie lifts). What they need to be doing is putting that snow where it's bare and hook the park crew up. And, just to give the two snowboarders who had to build the park this past year little credit. TWO FUCKIN' DIGGERS!; give me a break! And a snowcat man who obviously has never seen a terrain park jump. The man wouldn't accept drawings of layouts and park designs from anyone. Believe me, i asked if i could draw out a park for them plenty of times.
I don't know why in the hell you people are backing up the resort so much. Do you have stock in it or are you just completely oblivious to what's going on at your mountain? You paid $800 or more for a season pass, i would care and i do care, which is why i wrote this.
On a lightly note, steamboat's BACK COUNTRY is fucking amazing. if you have a snowmobil, i highly suggest getting out in their wildness. there are some amazing cliffs, pillow lines, and just sick ass trees. the snow there is only described as 'epic' and a lot of the people are chill. However, there are plenty of egos in the park, and if you're not in jenson's and gina's clique, the 'cool' people will treat you like shit. Should you bash bad ideas presented in front of you (ride on rails, the wall ride the was removed from the qp, etc.), you're suppose to lie and say it's awesome so everyone can be happy. (that's what i'm suppose to do jenson, gina and young blood right?)
to those of you who are going to steamboat, don't expect to much. you'll be let down, think of it as one of the laziest towns in the usa, where you're not suppose to get anything done and that's accepted. you go there to relax and waste away your life, not improve and push each other.
