we should have a party on november 11 to celebrate the five year anniversary of the steamboat thread. it seems like only yesterday i was posting on the first page of it.
 
well tbh, pipe will probably still be shit for another two weeks till all the holes & kinks are cut out. all the rails should be up by mid-week this week. The 2nd jump in the big line is getting changed soon fyi..for the better of course.

Intrawest Welcomes Steamboat Ski Resort to its Network of

Experiential Destination Resorts

The acquisition of Steamboat also provides Intrawest with access to fee-owned real estate including certain development rights, 13 dining venues and management of the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel, Steamboat’s only AAA Four Diamond Resort.

not for a long time. there was the bumps and jumps twice, three and five years ago (?). and they had one like five years ago when the world cup moguls was in town. but who cars, big air is gay. how about a real halfpipe or slopestyle comp that is open registration. add a good cash purse onto that and we would be set.
 
man why the fuck did they have to change the 70 footer. it was perfect how it was, and now it boosts you a million feet in the air causing the landing to feel flat and at the wrong slope. Not to mention you have to speed check like a motherfucker if u dont want to overshoot it like i did 3 times today.

It was perfect before, u went straight at it and you would land soooo smooth about halfway down the landing, now it sucks and my face hurts.
 
I was soo pumped for the park, but i messed up my rib, I broke the cartalage off of it, so now when i hit jumps it knocks it up underneath my rib cage more and touches my lung, but i hope the pipe comp will be bomb.
 
I like the new height, and the new big line better actually. Just have to get used to it. But I wish the landings were steeper still. Speed seems pretty good, it's going to get slower as the temps warm up.
 
I am organizing a S-K-I tournament in Steamboat. It will be played over the course of a couple days (most likely March 21-25), all features in the Bashor terrain park will be included.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with S-K-I it is like the basketball game H-O-R-S-E. One person does the trick, if the trick is landed the other person does the trick or takes a letter. If the person originally trying the trick messes up, it is the other persons turn to do a trick.

If you are interested in competing message or comment me. There will be a $10 entry fee for each competitor that will then go to the winner. Second place will have their $10 refunded. I am working out the details and rules this afternoon/tonight so and will e-mail those to you as soon as they are down.
