What's the best time to go there? My family won a small trip to steamboat but the only weeks that we could really go are either Easter weekend or next november during thanksgiving. When would the snow be better? Probably this april?

naw, spring skiing at the boat usually sucks. icy in the morning then slushy as hell in the afternoon. they usually don't open until thanksgiving so there's so much pow opening day.

try to go some other time... if you can, november and april are not known as the best ski months, even in colorado

O yes, you can ski backcountry is syracuse ny

We just can't. There are a ton of black out dates, so we can't go next Christmas, we can't just go now, 'cause if I miss any school i have to take final exams this year, and we're going to SLC this spring break, so we can't go then.

i went last year at the end of march and the park was super soft and on the second to last day we got a 7 inch dump...my seth pistols got me to storm peak first

the 'boat' is alright, because its so far away from denver it tends to be more of a turist resort. nobody here really wants to make the 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive to get there. but, if its free go man, i would say that thanksgiving would be better.

Duff Man: Duff Man... says a lot of things! Oh, yeah!

Cool, thanks for the input. Not sure how Co is, the only resort i've actually skiied at there was Wolf Creek, and no offense to other people from colorado, but for a place taht lives off tourism, like pagosa springs, the people there were jerks.

I tend to like a resort that has more locals than tourists though.

although those are both times that aren't the greatest times to ride, if you want the the good snow and no park go in november. but if you want decent snow (and amybe even some fresh spring snow!) and fun summer conditions in the park, then go easter weekend.
