Steamboat Lowdown

I'm headed up to steamboat with the fan for spring break next week, anyone got any insider tips on good shred spots or sections of the mountain to lap, or really anything at all about the mountain/town? Thanks
 
Mahogony ridge brewery/grill is orgasmic.

There wasn't shit for snow when I went to Steamboat last January so I can't say much about the hill itself. I don't think I got the real experience.
 
Eat at Taco Cabo if you get the chance! It looks like a run down gas station from the outside but its super good local tacos.
 
You can't really lap steamboat, the lift layout combined with the terrain makes it hard to. I skied the chutes by getting to and going up morningside lift, down the chutes, up bar ue, down into morningside, then back up morningside lift.
 
If its crowded lap four points never a line and has pretty fun terrain, shadows/closets are fun. Chutes can be shit because they get skied of easy north st pats is whats up but hike in/out kinda sucks east face has sweet views, pony can be sick right after snow but other wise especially in spring can get icy and hard

Almost the whole state just got dumped on for about 4 days straight last week, good chance Boat is doing well.
 
Please god, do not listen to the above advice. I don't think these people have ever actually skied Steamboat.

Lap Storm Peak, you can do super easy laps, back to Storm, or traverse over to the Sundown side. Drop into Morning side from there, short but sweet, then ski Chute one or 2 and ski back to Storm and do it all over again before heading down to the park for afternoon hot laps. Icy??? wtf is this guy talking about.
 
None of the above is correct I lived in the boat for 3 years and advise goes as fallows.

GOLF COURSE LAPS MOTHERFUCKER my lap on that shit had like 8 10 footers in the trees in one run.

That would be the second gate of pony.... Also canyon laps that would be the top gate of pony. No name chutes are pretty good off stormy but you have to ride morningside and that is problematic for a speedy lap.

If it hasn't snowed heavenly days to lower valley view laps are mad fun for going like 80.

idk about that, chutes tends to be nice and soft even if it is tracked. And the hike up to north st pats takes 5 minutes at the very most. OP find someone to take ya into the canyon its lit. but if you consider the hike up to north st pats to suck then you might not have the best time getting out of there

Nah I know its not bad just not right off the lift like the other chutes and idk in my experience the chutes just kinda get windblown really easily storm is pretty sick tho agree there.

Well I've been here for 30 years MOTHERFUCKER and golf course trees are for gapers and newbies, gets tracked out faster than Breck on a Saturday. Lower Valley View??? LOL
